The international Program agreement between the Faculty of Commerce and British universities
Alexandria University President Dr. Essam El Kurdi and Mrs. Windy Feirman the General Consul of UK attended the signing of the agreement of the international program between the Faculty of Commerce and the International Academy for Researches and Advanced Studies Peirson, Uk. The agreement was signed by Dr. El Sayed El Siefy; Dean of the faculty and Mr. Kareem El Safty; the regional manager of the International Academy for Researches and Advanced Studies in the Middle East.Alexandria University President Dr. Essam El Kurdi and Mrs. Windy Feirman the General Consul of UK attended the signing of the agreement of the international program between the Faculty of Commerce and the International Academy for Researches and Advanced Studies Peirson, Uk. The agreement was signed by Dr. El Sayed El Siefy; Dean of the faculty and Mr. Kareem El Safty; the regional manager of the International Academy for Researches and Advanced Studies in the Middle East.Dr. Kurdi declared that this agreement is the first one in the Egyptian universities that should promote the Faculty of Commerce to the level of international colleges. It also shall develop the competency and innovative skills of the students as it allow the student to complete the study in one of 120 colleges in UK. Dr. El Sayed El Siefy said that the agreement shall open new horizons in labor market for the students and provide many advantages for the students of the Faculty of Commerce as the student will obtain one certificate from AU and another one from British university under the agreement. He added that the agreement is active from September 2018 for the students of first, second and third group only, while the fourth group students will benefit from another scholarship of graduate studies at low cost.Mr. Kareem El Safty expressed his proudness that his institution is a part of this agreement as it should enhance the quality of higher education in the Egyptian universities and provide job opportunities for graduates as they will hold international university certificates from UK. He added that the agreement supports the strategic trend of the Egyptian government within 2030 Vision.Mrs. Windy Fierman expressed her happiness of the agreement as it reflects the continuous support of the British government to the Egyptian government to develop the higher education sector.Mr. Ahmed Ismail; the regional Manager of Peirson in North Africa said that the agreement will convert the Faculty of Commerce to a regional center to attract foreign students to AU as it will confer accredited certificates from UK in collaboration with international institutions.
AU initiates a new system for the students to complete the study in USA
Dr. Essam El Kurdi the President of Alexandria University signed a cooperation protocol with Dr. John Larson, the President of Ocean County College in New Jersey, USA. The protocol shall activate the system of community colleges in Egypt. The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Hamza; the Egyptian Culture Advisor in USA, members of the Trustees Council of Ocean County College, Dr. Hatem Akel; the Vice President of Ocean College for Remote Education and International Affairs, Dr. Maysa Abu Youssef Heyward, the Vice President of Ocean for International Affairs and all AU deans.Dr. Essam El Kurdi the President of Alexandria University signed a cooperation protocol with Dr. John Larson, the President of Ocean County College in New Jersey, USA. This system will grant certificate to the students upon studying for two years then complete their study in Au or one of American colleges for another two years. This system will grant the student three certificate, the first certificate after two years from Ocean College, another one after studying in AU for 4 years and the last one from one of USA universities like the New Jersey Institute of Technology. The students can also perform graduate studies in American universities.
AU hosts the first round of the international competition of Landmine Monitoring
Under auspices of the President of Alexandria University Dr. Essam El Kurdi, the first round of the international competition of Landmine Monitoring in collaboration with HADATH Organization for Creation and Entrepreneurship and the Association of Electrical Engineers. Also, the Egyptian Agency of Communication is the strategic partner with participation ofa teams from the universities; Alexandria, Helwan, Zagazig, Banha, Menofia, Tanta, El Menia, AUC and many other universities.Under auspices of the President of Alexandria University Dr. Essam El Kurdi, the first round of the international competition of Landmine Monitoring in collaboration with HADATH Organization for Creation and Entrepreneurship and the Association of Electrical Engineers. Also, the Egyptian Agency of Communication is the strategic partner with participation ofa teams from the universities; Alexandria, Helwan, Zagazig, Banha, Menofia, Tanta, El Menia, AUC and many other universities.AU vice-President for Education and Students Affairs Dr. Hisham Gaber in his opening speech stressed the importance of the competition as Egypt comes second among the countries with the highest number of landmines of 23 million left behind the wars in the 20th century.Dr. Abdel Aziz Konswa, the Vice President of AU for Community Service and Environment Development underlined the role of the university and the civil community in supporting the youth and creative ideas using modern technology to convert it to real projects can be implemented and help the government to eliminate the landmines from the north coast and achieve sustainable development there.The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering said that the faculty participated in many international competitions and achieved superior places. He wished success to all participants.Eng. Mohamed Aboud the Director of HADATH Organization said that the competition idea is to design robots to discover landmines above and underground. He added that the best 10 teams from universities and 8 teams from pre-university level will selected by the end of the day, then three teams will be qualified to the finals in Madrid in next October.
Cooperation agreement between AU and Ocean County College to activate the community colleges
During his visit to Ocean County College in New Jersey-USA, Dr. Essam El Kurdi the president of Alexandria University met with the Minister of Higher Education in New Jersey, Dr. John Larson the Rector of the university, Dr. Hatem Akel the Vice President of the university for remote education and Dr. Maysa Abu Youssef Hayward the Dean of Global Outreach.
Dr. Kurdi presented a brief explanation on Alexandria University and its role inside and outside Egypt. He also spoke about the cooperation agreement with Ocean University to activate the system of community colleges. He indicated that the new programs are designed according to the actual requirements of the labor market. He also underlined the current and future chances of cooperation with Ocean College to exchange students and faculty members.
The Minister of Higher Education praised the initiative of Ocean College to sign international protocols of cooperation especially with Egypt.
AU President: 35 grants for Nile basin countries annually
Dr. Essam El kurdi, the President of Alexandria University praised the achievements of the University of occupying advanced places in number of international indexes and obtaining number of state appreciation prizes.
Dr. El kurdi in an interview with channel-5 pointed to the importance of experience exchange and cooperation with Chinese universities and establishment of Arabic learning centers for foreigners. He also added that the university joined the agreement of "Belt and Road" that will allow cooperation with Chinese universities.
Dr. Kurdi said that AU presents 35 grants to Nile Basin countries within the frame of African Egyptian relationships. He praised the e-book trial in the Faculty of Commerce which achieved great success so the university will generalize in all faculties of Human Sciences Complex by the beginning of the academic year 2018/ 2019.
The Rector highlighted the university role in community service and the Engineering Center role in Mahmoudia Axes development.
