MoU between Alexandria University and Shaanxi Normal University in China
The Council of Graduate Studies and Research at Alexandria University in its recent session headed by Dr. Mokhtar Youssef; the Vice President of the university approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Alexandria University and Shaanxi Normal University in China.

The Council of Education and Students at Alexandria University in its recent session headed by Dr. Hisham Gaber; the Vice President of Alexandria University approved the enrollment conditions for joining English and French Units in the Faculty of Commerce for the academic year 2018\2019.
AU President receives the winning teams in the Automated Submarines competition ROV in USA
The President of Alexandria University Dr. Essam El Kurdy has recently received the teams (Vortex) and (MIA) from the Faculty of Engineering after coming from USA. The two teams won the first and third places in the Automated Submarines competition ROV that was held with a participation of 28 teams from 17 countries.
Dr. Kurdy praised this honoring achievement and emphasized the necessity of such creative and innovative ideas in artificial intelligence and robots. He also stated the university full support to its students to implement their outside the box ideas. He also stated the importance of interaction between the generations to convert such innovative ideas into projects and companies that shall contribute to a promising future in Egypt.
The Rector called the students to use the Competency Development Center that provides free training programs.
Dr. Hisham Gabr; the Vice President of AU for Education and Students Affairs highlighted the importance of accumulative knowledge in performance development and results enhancements. He said that the new law of higher education will provide a legal frame to make use of such innovative and promising ideas to be converted into projects and companies and support the Egyptian industry.
Dr. Said Allam the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering indicated the role of the faculty supporting the participated. He said that the submitted ideas can be utilized in petroleum companies, ports and submerged monuments.
AU President receives the Director of Fulbright office in Cairo
The President of Alexandria University Dr. Essam El Kurdy received Dr. Magi Nassif the Director of Fulbright office in Cairo and Dr. Giffery Mylin the Professor at California University. The meeting was attended by Dr. Essam Khamis; the Deputy of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The attendants discussed ways of cooperation to enhance the technical and technological education and the requirements of Alexandria University of grants provided by Fulbright Association. The meeting focused of the grants in medical field to prepare a staff that shall be the core of the Technological University in Borg Al Arab.
Dr. Kurdy emphasized the university interest on cooperation with Fulbright Association through graduate scholarships in prestigious universities in USA in addition to training programs for young faculty members to be aware with the latest techniques and to transfer this experience to Alexandria University.
Dr. Giffery Mylin stressed on the necessity of continuous update of the academic programs to match the labor market requirements.
Dr. Magi Nassif declared that the association will provide scholarships for Master degree in many disciplines where the applicants will be selected according to their future capabilities and their activity in community service inside their countries.
The meeting was followed by a visit to the Faculty of Science to deliver a lecture on the available scholarships and grants provided by Fulbright Association and the American Agency USAID.
