On the sideline of Higher Education Summit in India…. The President of Alexandria University visits "Amity"
On the sideline of Higher Education Summit 2018 which was held in New Delhi on 30th of October to 1st of November, Dr. Essam Elkordi; The President of Alexandria University visited Amity University in India with high level delegation.
Amity University includes many scientific, engineering and technological disciplines and centers of excellence. The Delegation met the faculties staff and discussed joint cooperation between the Egyptian universities and Amity University like students and faculty members exchange, scholarships, scientific research and mutual education programs.
Alexandria University is 12th within QS Arab Region ranking.
The President of Alexandria University Dr. Essam El Kurdi declared that Alexandria University occupied the 12th place within QS University Ranking: Arab Region 2018.
Dr. Kurdi stated that the university ranking was upgraded 3 places than the last year, as the university moved from the 15th in 2017 to 12th place 2018. He added the Alexandria University came 7th within the Arab universities according to surveying employers' opinions regarding the quality of graduates.
Dr. Kurdi emphasized that this progress is an indication on the success of university strategy to enhance the scientific research as one of the prerequisites for world rankings, in addition to encouraging international publishing. He also declared that the university ranking was 745 within the best 1200 universities in the world according to US-News Ranking.
Dr. Essam El Kurdi participates in the a discussion panel about the future of university degrees
The President of Alexandria University Dr. Essam El Kurdi participated in the discussion panel "The future of university degrees" as an official speaker within the activities of the conference "Future Universities" that is held in New Delhi in India.
Dr. Kurdi emphasized the role of university to change society culture and thinking about the university certificates to be more than a scientific degree but the education should be the target itself and to enable the youth to find their chances in life and work.
Dr. Kurdi discussed the requirements to change the university role in the future to the new pattern and to set a new basis for the university assessment with required improvements.
President of Alexandria University participates in the summit of higher education in India
The President of Alexandria University Dr. Essam El Kurdi participated in the activities of the 14th round of the Higher Education Summit 2018 in India. The activities were held in the period from 30-Oct to 1-Nov-2018 in New Delhi with participation of Presidents of Egyptian universities and 247 delegations from 63 countries.
Dr. Kurdi declared that this event aims to develop the strategic partnership in education between India and other countries. He added that the activities included an exhibition for the Indian universities and higher education institutions. Also an international conference was organized with participation of 1200 professors from India, Africa, MENA, Canada, USA and UK.
Alexandria University studies increasing the newcomer from Nile Basin countries
In the frame of strengthen relationships with Nile Basin Countries, Dr. Mokhtar Youssef the Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research called the faculties deputies to increase the number of foreign students from Basin Countries and to eliminate all obstacles. This came during the session of Graduates and Research Studies Council on 16th of October, 2018.
Dr. Mokhtar stressed on the importance of mechanization of all Graduate Studies and Research departments in all faculties and institutes in the university.
The Council of Graduate Studies and Research reviewed the resolutions of the Supreme Council of Universities not to collect any extra tuition from foreign students and also the foreign student who obtained scholarships will not pay any tuition fees.
