Supreme Council of Alexandria University’s Branch in Chad Discusses Introducing New Majors and Dual Programs in the branch in English and French Languages in Cooperation with International Universities
A meeting of the Supreme Council of Alexandria University’s Branch in the Republic of Chad was held, headed by Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, in the presence of Dr. Aman Tatalum, Vice President of the University of N'Djamena, Deputy President of the University of N'Djamena, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Zein Gomaa, Director of International Relations at the University of N'Djamena, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Nasr Zaki, Branch Coordinator, Dr. Ibrahim Rehab, Advisor to the President of the University for African Affairs, and Dr. Mohamed Bahey El-Din, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Shatby.
At the beginning of the meeting, the university president welcomed the Chadian side, stressing the depth of the ties that bind the two brotherly peoples, and the keenness of Alexandria University to consolidate these ties through scientific and academic cooperation between the two sides, so that the branch of Alexandria University in the Chadian capital, N'Djamena, would be a beacon of knowledge in Chad and the countries of Central and West Africa, by providing a package of educational programs and scientific research that target development in these countries.
• The council discussed the possibility of offering new specializations and dual programs in English and French languages that suit the needs of Chadian society and the countries of Central and West Africa, so that the branch would be a regional hub for higher education with global competitiveness.
• The council agreed to allocate part of the area of the branch buildings on the ground floor to establish a medical centre to be the nucleus of the medical programs to be established in the branch, with the completion of the necessary studies by Alexandria University to allocate the land needed to establish the future educational hospital in the city of N'Djamena.
• The council also discussed the establishment of an educational and productive farm that would have a productive role in the agricultural and livestock industries and contribute to the development of livestock and the agricultural and industrial aspects associated with it.
• The Council discussed the mechanisms for providing faculty members at Alexandria University to teach the courses, and assigning the administrative assistants needed by the branch.

President of Alexandria University Receives German Accreditation Authority Delegation to Internationally Accredit the University’s Bachelor of Nursing
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received today the experts of the German Authority for International Accreditation, headed by Dr. Ota Guedes, Professor at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Germany, in preparation for the international accreditation of the Bachelor of Nursing program at Alexandria University, in the presence of Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Nefertiti Zaki, Dean of the Faculty, the Faculty's Vice-Deans, the Director of the Quality Assurance Centre, the International Relations Office, the Project Management Unit at the University, and the Quality Assurance Unit team at the Faculty.

In his speech, Dr. Konsowa welcomed the German delegation to Alexandria University, and reviewed the University’s strategy and vision towards internationalizing education and establishing many partnerships and alliances with prestigious international universities, establishing dual degrees with distinguished international universities and research institutes, and international cooperation with highly ranked international universities in general. He pointed to the existing cooperation between Alexandria University and German universities, including Aachen University, which shares with Alexandria University in offering a joint degree in the fields of water and energy.

The meeting included an introduction to the educational and research activities of the university and the Faculty of Nursing and the extent of its commitment to international quality standards. The university president and attendees from Alexandria University responded to the inquiries of the German Accreditation Authority team, and the German team expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to the university president and the dean of the faculty for the efforts made during the visit.

The German delegation then visited the laboratories and the library at the Faculty of Nursing and the University Teaching Hospital and held meetings with student representatives.

The meeting was attended by a presentation by Dr. Boshra Salem, Assistant President of the University for International Classifications Affairs, which addressed the university’s capabilities and various activities in the fields of education, scientific research, community service, the university’s position in international classifications, its international relations, and dual and joint study programs with major international universities.



Alexandria University Council Approves Establishing International Branches in Saudi Arabia and Iraq and Establishment of Technology Park to Adopt Creative Ideas and Initiatives Advancing Society and Industry
Alexandria University Council in its session held on Monday the 24th of February 2025, headed by Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, approved - in principle - the opening of two branches of Alexandria University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iraq, and taking the necessary measures towards that.
The Council approved the establishment of the Technology Park at Alexandria University following the completion of the construction works of its buildings. The University President called on all researchers, faculty members and students who have innovative and applicable initiatives and ideas to join the Technology Park to adopt these ideas and bring them to light. He stressed the role of the Technology Park in adopting applied scientific research that provides solutions to the industry, contributes to its development and advancement, finding practical and applied solutions to enhance the knowledge economy and to encourage students to establish their start-up companies. The President of the University pointed out the University's orientation towards linking the Technology Park with its counterpart in American, British, European, Indian and Far Eastern universities that have cooperative relations with Alexandria University, while working to present a unique model for partnerships with prestigious international institutions and companies.

The Council approved the establishment of the Alexandria University Company for Consulting and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Services as one of the Alexandria University companies.
The Council approved the establishment of a master’s program in Artificial Intelligence Applications in Dentistry (double degree) at the Faculty of Dentistry.
The Council approved the cooperation agreement to establish an academic program for partnership in nuclear law between Alexandria University (Faculty of Engineering) and the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria.
The Council approved the formation of a committee representing all faculties of the university to set the necessary controls for holding charity bazaars to provide products to university students with the highest quality and lowest price, for their benefit.
The Council approved the memorandum of understanding between Alexandria University and the University of Debrecen in Hungary, the two memoranda of understanding between Alexandria University and Sapienza University in Rome, the cooperation agreement between Alexandria University (Faculty of Pharmacy) and Manakh Ardena (Our Earth’s Climate) Foundation for Sustainable Development, the cooperation protocol between Alexandria University and the General Authority for Health Care, the cooperation agreement between Alexandria University and the University of Caen Normandy, France, the cooperation agreement between Alexandria University Littoral Cote d'Opal in France, the renewal of the scientific cooperation agreement between Alexandria University and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in the field of postgraduate studies, the cooperation protocol between Alexandria University and the National Bank of Egypt, and the cooperation agreement between Alexandria University and Virginia Tech University in the United States.
The Council accepted the devices donated to the Surgical Operations Department at the Medical Research Institute worth 1.5 million pounds, the devices donated to the Kidney Unit at the Faculty of Medicine worth 3.5 million pounds, and the donations of medical supplies for patients in the Cardiovascular Diseases Department worth 4 million pounds.
The Council approved the promotion of 23 faculty members, 7 to the position of professor, 16 to the position of associate professor, the appointment of 20 lecturers, and the granting of doctoral degrees and master's degrees in various scientific disciplines.




President of Alexandria University Participates in 16th International Exhibition and Forum for Higher Education and Training "Edugate"
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, participated in the activities of the 16th session of the International Exhibition and Forum for Higher Education and Training "Edugate", which started today under the auspices of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and its activities will last until Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Kempinski Royal Maxim Hotel in the First Settlement of New Cairo.
The exhibition and international forum includes wide Egyptian and international participation from higher education institutions, and it hosts representatives of more than 100 universities from the most prominent Egyptian, international, and national universities.
The Alexandria University pavilion presents its vision in cooperation with highly-ranked international universities with, and its orientation to raise the quality of the educational process at Alexandria University, bringing it to global levels, and reviewing the group of dual degrees that were recently signed in the fields of dentistry, engineering, economics and political science with the British University of Essex, which are the Master of Periodontology at the Faculty of Dentistry with a 2+1 system, and several Master's degrees in engineering in the specializations of Computer and Communication, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, and Biomedical Engineering with a 4+1 system, as well as a Master's degree in Economics and Political Science with a 3+1 system, where the student in these degrees obtains a bachelor's degree from Alexandria University and a master's degree from the British University of Essex. In addition, it includes review of a group of dual degrees that were recently signed with the University of Southampton in the UK in the field of business with a 3+1 system that allows the student to obtain a Bachelor of Business from Alexandria University, as well as obtain a Master's degree in the fields of digital marketing MSc in Digital Marketing, or the International Financial Market MSc in International Management, or International Management MSc in International Management, from the University of Southampton.
This comes in implementation of the axes of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which focus on raising the competitiveness of education globally, and opening up horizons for cooperation between Egyptian universities with prestigious foreign institutions and universities.
The forum witnessed the attendance of a group of faculty members from various universities and a delegation of faculty members from Alexandria University.


Alexandria University Students Visit the Naval College to Enhance Their National Awareness
Under the auspices of Dr Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, a group of Alexandria University students visited the Naval College, as part of a series of visits organized by the university in cooperation with the Popular and Military Defense Administration.
During the visit, the students met with Major General Ayman El Daly, Director of the Naval College, who conveyed to them the greetings of Lieutenant General Ashraf Atwa, Commander of the Naval Forces, and stressed the importance of the visit in introducing students to military life and the role of the college in preparing young people to defend the homeland.
The students also learned about the tasks of the Naval Forces in securing borders and coasts, and the importance of comprehensive security for society, which is not limited to military security only, but also includes economic and social security.
Colonel Mohamed Maher, Director of the Military Education Department at Alexandria University, pointed out that this visit represents part of an integrated strategy adopted by the university to enhance national awareness among students and deepen understanding of the pivotal role played by the armed forces in preserving the homeland and protecting its territory. He explained that the aim of these visits is to provide students with the opportunity to learn about military life, the challenges facing the armed forces, being prepare to confront these challenges, and to consolidate the concept of comprehensive security, which goes beyond the military dimension to include all aspects of life, from economic and social security to intellectual and informational security. He stressed that these visits will undoubtedly contribute to building a young generation that is aware of the importance of national security, aware of the dimensions of the threats facing our homeland, and armed with a sense of responsibility and readiness to contribute to its construction and development.
