​The Council of Alexandria University, in its session held under the chairmanship of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, congratulated Dr. Khaled El-Enany on his election as the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The Council expressed its deep appreciation for this high-level international achievement, which is considered a culmination of his distinguished career full of contributions in the sectors of Antiquities, Culture, Education, and the protection of human heritage. Dr. Konsowa emphasized that Dr. Khaled El-Enany's victory in this position represents a high-level international recognition of the stature of Egyptian competencies and their pioneering role in leading global institutions. It also reflects the significant support provided by the Egyptian State for this candidacy, which underscores Egypt's civilizational and cultural standing on the international stage. The University President expressed his great pleasure at Alexandria University hosting this well-deserved tribute by the Supreme Council of Universities, wishing Dr. Khaled El-Enany continuous success in his new duties and contribution to achieving UNESCO's noble goals of consolidating peace and supporting education, sciences, and culture.

​The University President then reviewed the significant development in the joint and dual degree programs offered by the University's faculties in cooperation with American, British, and European partner international universities. These programs are established within the framework of signed cooperation protocols, aiming to provide students with high-quality educational services of international competitiveness and contribute to achieving the University's strategic goal of becoming a leading regional and international center for education and scientific research. The University President clarified that the University provides all necessary resources and facilities for the students of these programs during their study period at Alexandria University before their transfer to complete their studies at the partner foreign university. He affirmed that this track ensures they receive an outstanding university education within a global competitive framework, enhancing their ability to enter the local and international labor market. The University President stressed that dual academic degrees and the establishment of international branches for the University are among the main axes in the University's strategic plan, which stems from Egypt's Vision 2030.

 

 

​The Council congratulated the Faculty of Medicine and University Hospitals on the global achievement of listing the Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Center at the Main University Hospital among the top ten centers globally outside the United States of America, and its attainment of the seventh rank globally according to the Cardiac Research Foundation (CRF) classification issued on the sidelines of the TCT 2025 International Conference. Dr. Konsowa affirmed that this classification is a culmination of continuous efforts and reflects the distinguished position of the University and its medical cadres, the competence of Egyptian doctors, and their ability to achieve international leadership. It confirms the University's commitment to providing the highest level of medical care in accordance with the highest quality standards, wishing the Faculty's family continued progress in various medical, scientific, and research fields.

​In the context of following up on the readiness of university buildings and facilities, the University President stressed the need to follow up on the comprehensive and periodic maintenance works carried out in the University's various faculties and units, and the precise and continuous review of all maintenance and restoration work to ensure the educational and research process proceeds with high efficiency, and to provide a safe and fully equipped educational and work environment for students, faculty members, and staff, thereby preserving university assets and facilities and enhancing the quality of services provided.

​The Council approved the acceptance of a number of donations and endowments presented to the Faculty of Medicine and University Hospitals at Alexandria University to support the medical system and develop services provided to patients. These included:

​Two devices provided by El Garably Integrated Engineering Works Company—a cardiac catheterization device valued at 33 million EGP for the Department of Cardiology and Vascular Diseases at the Main University Hospital, and an interventional radiology device valued at 33 million EGP for the Department of Interventional Radiology at the Main University Hospital.

​A donation from Pharos University, consisting of one (1) surgical endoscope equipped with a 4K screen, valued at 5 million and 422 thousand EGP for the Surgery Department.

​Medical supplies from "One Surgical" Company valued at 4 million and 300 thousand EGP, allocated for cardiovascular patients at Smouha University Hospital.

​A donation from Dr. Kamel El Din Ahmed El Hosny of an ultrasound device valued at 1 million and 350 thousand EGP to support the services of the Department of Cardiology and Vascular Diseases.

​The Council approved the promotion of 32 faculty members (15 to the position of Professor, 17 to the position of Assistant Professor), the appointment of 12 lecturers, and the granting of 205 Doctoral degrees and .187 Master
