Committee to support postgraduate students at Alexandria University
Dr. Ashraf Elghandour, Acting Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, confirmed during the Alexandria University Council for Graduate Studies and Research, held yesterday morning, Monday, corresponding to 9/20/2021, that there are a number of new procedures followed to examine the scientific production of scientific research. At the University of Alexandria, through the Digital Library Unit for researchers and faculty members to examine their research, periodicals and scientific journals affiliated with the University of Alexandria, so that all students are submitted for research examination, by agreeing to activate the Private Repository/Node feature on the Ithenticate system for the accounts of the Digital Library Unit, which is a paid feature on The service fee shall be paid from the account of the digital library unit.
Elghandour indicated that a committee has been formed to support graduate students at Alexandria University, stressing that this comes within the framework of supporting students researching in various stages of graduate studies and helping them complete their studies, pointing out that the university opens its doors to all those wishing to complete their research studies after graduation. It is working to remove any obstacles or difficulties facing graduate students, especially with the strategy pursued by the Egyptian state in supporting researchers in all fields, and he stressed that his office is always open to receive any suggestions, complaints or visions for students, listen to them and work to solve them.
Alexandria University wins four prizes in the competitions of the Ministry of Higher Education for Egyptian universities
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, announced, on Monday morning, September 20, 2021, the results of the university competitions launched by the ministry among Egyptian universities, which included several areas, namely: preparing for the academic year 2020/2021, efforts to confront the emerging corona virus pandemic, and the best website at the level of universities, research centers and institutes, the best applied project related to the community, the best public university in the field of graduate studies, research and applied research published in terms of creativity and its association with industry, and the best environmentally friendly university, in addition to competition between university students and faculty members to beautify the visual image of the capital The new administration.
The results of Alexandria University were as follows:
In the first and second competitions, which specialized in competition between Egyptian universities in preparing for the 2021/2020 academic year and their efforts to confront the emerging corona virus, Alexandria and Helwan Universities won the third place equally.
- In the fourth competition for applied projects related to society, Alexandria University won the third place, shared equally with Minya University.
With regard to the fifth competition for graduate studies and research, Alexandria University won the second place as the best Egyptian university in graduate studies, research and applied research published in terms of creativity and its association with industry.

In the frame of the Center of Excellence for Water (COE) activities, the call for application for the Water Energy Food Nexus Winter School (WEF) organized by the COE is now open for Junior Faculty, Masters and Doctoral students from: Ain Shams, Alexandria, Aswan, Beni Suef, Zagazig Universities ONLY.
The WEF will take place in Cairo from 1 November 2021 to 31 January 2022.
