Faculty of Fine Arts Organizes Art Exhibition in Alexandria University’s Celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the Glorious October Victory
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Fine Arts organized on Sunday an art exhibition of a group of artworks on the October War, designed by faculty members and the faculty's assistant staff, as part of the activities of the community service and environmental development sector at the faculty.

The organization of the exhibition coincides with Alexandria University’s celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the victories of the glorious October War, in the presence of Dr. Dina Mandour, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Mohamed Keshk, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and a group of faculty members, supporting staff, visual artists, and students.

In this context, Dr. Dina Mandour indicated that the exhibition includes a selection of artworks depicting the Sixth of October Victory. She pointed out that the artworks vary between painting, photography, collage, mosaic art, and specialized projects in interior design and paintings, as well as contemporary designs and interior architecture inspired by the victories of the October War, and the environmental balance in the design of public services in the city of Alexandria, in addition to a group of graphic and sculptural works about the October War.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mohamed Keshk confirmed that the Faculty of Fine Arts is in the process of issuing a booklet to document artistic works that were specially designed for the victories of the glorious October War, in addition to holding a cultural competition including national songs, painting, photography, poetry, literary texts, illustrated short stories, musical performance, composing music, and journalistic writing. He added that in conjunction with the faculty’s celebrations of the October Victory and within the framework of implementing the presidential initiative “100 Million Health,” the Faculty of Fine Arts will start organizing an event on early detection of chronic diseases, kidney disease, cancerous tumors, blood pressure diseases, diabetes, and vaccination against Covid-19, in the period from the 3rd until the 4th of October at the clinic of the main faculty building, and the clinic at the decor department building.
Conclusion of Fourth Arab Youth Forum for Entrepreneurship at Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the activities of the Fourth Arab Youth Forum for Entrepreneurship concluded, which was organized by the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science in cooperation with the Association for Economic Development and Entrepreneurship. Its activities continued for two days at the faculty's headquarters, and was attended by a group of thinkers, faculty members, executives concerned with entrepreneurship, as well as entrepreneurs who own small, medium and micro enterprise, in addition representatives of civil society organizations, led by the Businessmen Association, representatives of religious institutions, media figures, and hundreds of researchers and students.

Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the Faculty, in his speech, stressed the importance of entrepreneurship as a creative idea in light of the need for successful and constructive ideas and new mechanisms to create various jobs in light of the widespread unemployment at large rates at various national and global levels.
Dr. Suzette El-Ridi, founder of the forum and president of the Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Association, also pointed out the basic role of the forum in encouraging projects and entrepreneurship as a societal responsibility and a national duty. Dr. El-Ridi emphasized the pioneering role of the forum in transferring the expertise of specialists and academics to promising young people in order to hone their experiences and encourage them to establish innovative projects.
Dr. Abdelwahab Ghoneim - Vice President of the Arab Federation for the Digital Economy and Advisor to Cambridge College, referred in his speech to contemporary economic vocabulary and the tremendous technological developments that the world is experiencing in the twenty-first century, which in turn were reflected in entrepreneurship, and the size of the digital economy based on information technology now constitutes approximately 50 percent of the global economy.
Dr. Mona Abdellatif, Director of the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications, pointed to the prominent role played by the forum in providing a unique opportunity to meet distinguished and creative Arab youth in the field of entrepreneurship, where experiences and knowledge are exchanged and cooperation in the field of innovation and technology is enhanced. She also stressed the importance of the conference in unifying joint efforts between multiple entities, whether hosts or various entities across the Arab world, to exchange ideas and experiences and encourage joint cooperation between Arab youth, investors, and experts in the field of entrepreneurship.
Several important topics were discussed during the forum, including “Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship” by Dr. Abdelwahab Ghoneim, and “A Closer Look at Policies to Encourage Entrepreneurship in Egypt and the Arab Region” by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Bahaa El-Din Khairy - Professor of Industrial Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, “Entrepreneurial Marketing” by Dr. Ayman Shawky, Director of the Development Center - Arab Academy for Science and Technology, and “The Role of the Businessmen Association in Supporting Entrepreneurship and Financing Startups” by Dr. Mohamed Moharram - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Business Foundation - Businessmen Association In Alexandria, and “The Role of the Enterprise Development Agency in Supporting Entrepreneurs” by Mr. Salah Maged - Director of the Fourth Region - Enterprise Development Agency - Alexandria Office, while Dr. Nabil Shalabi - Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arab Pioneers House and Vice President of John Cracknell Youth Bank in England reviewed the most prominent inspiring stories of successful models in the field of entrepreneurship.
Submission of Digital Transformation Projects of Measurement and Evaluation Systems in 3 Faculties of Alexandria University
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and the supervision of Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and in continuation of the excellent work of the measurement and evaluation system at Alexandria University, the Committee of the Measurement and Evaluation Center at the Ministry of Higher Education visited the Faculty of Physical Education for Women, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, and the Faculty of Physical Education for Men at Alexandria University, to receive the projects of the sixth round of digital transformation in the measurement and evaluation systems of these faculties.


Dr. Sameh Nakhla, director of the Measurement and Evaluation Center at Alexandria University, indicated that during the visit the committee praised the development achieved by these faculties through digital transformation in their measurement and evaluation systems, and the establishment of nearly 50 question banks for courses within these faculties. The committee also praised the remarkable development in the governance of practical and oral exams, and the strong start of the electronic tests in these faculties, through the full support of the Deans for the measurement and evaluation units for the success of the digital transformation project, and the efforts of the directors and members of the measurement and evaluation units in these faculties. He wished the measurement and evaluation units in all faculties of the university further success and progress.





Faculty of Education Celebrates its 53rd Class Graduation
The Faculty of Education, Alexandria University, celebrated the graduation of the 53rd batch of its students, in the presence of Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Major General Mohamed El-Sherif, Governor of Alexandria, Major General Hazem Badr, Deputy Commander of the Northern Military Region, and Dr. Mohamed Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Education, in addition to deans and vice-deans of different faculties, faculty members at Alexandria University, as well as leaders of education in Alexandria, members of the House of Representatives and Senate, clergy, and parents of students.

In his speech, Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed the necessity of continuous development of the teacher and benefiting from the many sources of knowledge to develop the educational process. He stressed that the Ministry seeks a teacher who produces information and data, not a teacher who teaches information to students, in order to create what is called “creativity producing education.” Hegazy pointed out that the President puts the Egyptian teacher at the forefront of his interests by offering a competition to appoint 30,000 teachers every year, adding that there are several specific mechanisms based on which new teachers are selected, which are the academic specialization, the educational specialization, the general knowledge of the teachers, the extent of their familiarity with technology, and their proficiency in one of the Arabic or English languages, in addition to passing the physical fitness tests. He also stressed that there will be competitions to be announced soon. At the end of his speech, Hegazy stressed that there is no development of education without improving the teacher’s performance.

While Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa congratulated the parents and thanked them for their great efforts with their children during the years of study until graduation. He also thanked everyone who participated in the educational process during the years of study at the faculty, including department heads, faculty members, their assistants, and all the faculty employees for their support, dedication, and sincerity. Konsowa stressed that the Egyptian state is currently witnessing the construction phase under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, stressing that the Egyptian teacher is the cornerstone in building the Egyptian state. He pointed out that teachers are the ones who give credit to all the leaders present today, as they have influenced the values by which we live to this day. Konsowa stressed that the value of knowledge, advising students of the importance of possessing it to build a knowledge-based economy, and calling on them to be ambassadors for their country, their university, and their faculty, wherever they are, and to strive to convey an honourable image of their alma mater.

While Major General Mohamed El-Sherif congratulated all the graduates and their families, wishing them more success, stressing the state’s keenness, under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the New Republic, to provide full support and care to the Egyptian teacher. The governor stressed that the Faculty of Education is one of the most important faculties, for its role in preparing future generations who are to become doctors, engineers, and all other professions, pointing out that teaching is a lofty profession and teachers are the messengers of this nation.

Major General Hazem Badr conveyed the greetings of Major General Staff Walid Hamouda to the attendees, adding that arming yourself with knowledge is one of the pillars of the Egyptian state, wishing the students a prosperous and bright future filled with the fulfilment of hopes and aspirations as much as the graduates made great efforts during their years of study.

The celebration activities began with a parade of graduates, then the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. At the end of the celebration, the students took the oath of the graduates of the 53rd class of students from the Faculty of Education, Alexandria University.










Faculty of Economic Studies & Political Science Holds Symposium on Egyptian Politics and Blue Economy
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science held today, Tuesday the 6th of December, a symposium on "Egyptian Politics and the Blue Economy", in cooperation with the Egyptian Maritime Salon, in the Grand Conference Hall at the faculty's headquarters.


Among the participants in the symposium were Lieutenant General Mohab Mameesh, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Ports and the Suez Canal Axis, Dr. Mohamed Ali Ibrahim, Professor of Logistics and Advisor to the President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour, Vice President of Alexandria University for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the Faculty Economic Studies & Political Science, His Excellency Ambassador Mazeed Al-Hoshian, Consul General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Grace Bishop Ibram Emile, the Deputy of the Patriarchate in Alexandria, as well as members of the Egyptian Parliament, in addition to many former naval commanders, thinkers and members of the Egyptian Naval Salon, representatives of the Alexandrian civil society, faculty members and students.

During the symposium moderated by Dr. Mamdouh Mansour, Head of the Department of Political Science at the Faculty, Lieutenant General Mohab Mameesh, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Ports and the Suez Canal Axis, stressed the importance of the Suez Canal in the global trade movement, as it is the most important waterway to connect the East with Europe. He gave an account of the history of the Suez Canal and the most important international crises and conflicts that it passed through, and he also talked about the modern development projects that have been achieved in recent years under the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, which were represented in the expansion and duplication of the canal, as well as projects to develop the economic zone adjacent to it, and projects to modernize and develop Egyptian seaports and raise the efficiency of the maritime transport sector.

In his speech, Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour conveyed to the guests of the meeting the greetings of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, expressing his pleasure to participate in this scientific symposium, which sheds light on the most important development projects in the field of maritime transport and the blue economy, through the sustainable use and preservation of water resources, which are oceans, seas, lakes and rivers, with the aim of directing economic growth, improving livelihoods and creating job opportunities, while ensuring respect for the environment, cultural values and biodiversity.

Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the Faculty, also pointed out the importance of the topic of the symposium in opening new horizons of knowledge for the students and researchers of the Faculty in relation to the field of the blue economy, which is concerned with good management of water resources, dependence on the seas and oceans for sustainable development, eradicating poverty and achieving self-sufficiency in food.

While Dr. Mohamed Ali Ibrahim, Advisor to the President of the Arab Academy for Maritime Transport, referred to the emergence and development of the concept of the blue economy, and the role of the maritime transport sector in economic development and the global economy. He also reviewed many development projects that took place in Egypt and the Arab countries, especially the Arabian Gulf and Southeast Asia in the field of marine transport.
