Prof. Dr.Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received this morning, (Sunday 11th of July 2021) , two American delegations from the American universities of Ocean County, headed by Dr. John Larson and New Jersey City university, headed by Dr. Sue Henderson, and the accompanied delegations, to discuss ways of cooperation with the two universities, and the necessary executive steps to implement the program Community colleges in cooperation with the American Ocean University, starting next January, in the presence of Dr. Rouchdy Zahran, former president of Alexandria University, Dr. Sameh Shehata, supervisor of the International Relations Office at Alexandria University, and Dr. El-Sayed El-Seify, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Konsowa confirmed that the University of Alexandria is keen on supporting scientific cooperation relations with the United States of America, to benefit from American experience , and strengthening the partnership between the two sides through joint academic degrees at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in areas of interest to both sides especially in the field of business administration, data science and public health, he also indicated the possibility of cooperation with the Capacity Development Center for Staff Members which provide programs to refine and develop the skills of faculty members at Alexandria University.
The presidents of the two American universities presented the available programs, the advantages of each program and the proposed study methods.
Dr. Maysa Abu Youssef, Director of International Relations at Ocean American Community University in New Jersey, indicated that the joint programs with Alexandria University aim to link graduates directly with industry, and meet the needs of the jobs of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The academic system depends on studying for two years at the University of Alexandria, after which the student obtains a certificate in the field of specialization from Ocean University. This academic system also gives the student the opportunity to choose the study system, develop his skills and gain various experiences during and after university studies, which qualifies him to join the modern labor market.
On the other side, the President of New Jersey City University affirmed her country's commitment to cooperate with Alexandria University through joint degrees in the programs determined by the two sides. The New Jersey City University also supports establishing new programs in the field of business administration, artificial intelligence, computer applications, health and other fields needed by the Egyptian labor market.

Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, stated that the University Francophone Agency (AUF) chose Alexandria University among 11 member institutions of the agency worldwide to form an alliance of universities that wish to participate in a concrete and cooperative way in achieving gender equality. This alliance consists of A number of French-speaking member universities from different regions of the world are the Universities of Tirana in Albania, Abdelhamid Ben Badis University in Algeria, the Royal University of Law and Economics in Cambodia, the University of Montreal in Canada, the University of Cergy in France, the University of Kiskia in Haiti, the Lebanese University in Lebanon, the University of Toamasina in Madagascar, and the Euro-Mediterranean University in Morocco, Makerere University in Uganda and Alexandria University in Egypt, represented by Dr. Ghada El-Khayat, Professor at the Faculty of Commerce.
This alliance was established with the support of the UN Women program with the aim of raising awareness and taking concrete actions in order to achieve noticeable and measurable changes in the member institutions of the alliance with the dissemination and dissemination of its experiences and recommendations on the network of francophone universities in the world.
The selection committee for this alliance was composed of members from UN Women and HeForShe and members from the University Francophone Agency, these institutions will work together to promote gender equality at several levels (students, faculty, researchers and administrators), and this alliance will be supported by the AUF It will work in a network and in a collaborative, participatory and collective manner with the aim of advancing gender equality and each institution will be able to play the role that best suits it in this alliance.
It is worth noting that Alexandria University is working to achieve the sustainable development goals, as it obtained an advanced position in the Times Higher Education 2021 classification in terms of achieving these goals.

 

 

Dr.Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, announced that the results of the GRAS Chinese “Shanghai” classification for scientific and literary disciplines worldwide for the year 2021 were recently announced, and the report indicated that Alexandria University was included in five different disciplines among the top 500 international universities, as it was included in the Each of the veterinary sciences majors in the range (151-200), the second is locally repeated out of a total of 10 Egyptian universities, and in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences (201-300), the second is locally repeated out of a total of 11 Egyptian universities, and in medical technology (301-400) and the second is locally repeated Out of a total of 4 Egyptian universities, in biotechnology (401-500), the first locally out of a total of 3 Egyptian universities, and in clinical medicine (401-500) the fourth locally out of a total of 4 Egyptian universities.

Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and Dr. Ghada Khalil, Director of the Rowad 2030 Project at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, signed a cooperation protocol between the two sides with the aim of spreading the culture of entrepreneurship and self-employment among young people by allocating a number of scholarships to Alexandria University students on the (Million Entrepreneurs) platform. These grants aim to qualify young people and help secure the environment necessary for the growth of ideas and innovations and work to convert them into successful businesses and provide data that lead to creating job opportunities and contributing to economic development and enhancing its sustainability. The protocol also includes the nomination of 4 faculty members in the Incubators and Accelerators Management Program Launched by the project in cooperation with the American University in Cairo, in accordance with international principles and standards.

Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received Mrs. Sabina Erlinvine, Director of the German Goethe Institute in Alexandria, Dr. Dina Taha, Assistant Professor, Department of Architectural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Ziad Al-Sayyad, Assistant Professor, Department of Architectural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, to gift the President of the University the book Alexandria Architectural Guide.

 

Which was prepared in cooperation between Alexandria University, Goethe Institute and Dom Publishers in Berlin, and is part of a global series of nearly a hundred books of architectural guides for capitals and cities of the world. It is also an integrated architectural guide that monitors the rich architectural heritage of the city of Alexandria, and proposes routes to visit the rich architectural landmarks and landmarks.
