Alexandria University Participates in the Activities of the New Alamein Festival 2024
Under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the United Company, Alexandria University, and the Student Activities Sector of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Alexandria University is participating in the "Alamein World" Festival held in the New Alamein City.
This participation comes within the framework of the important role of student activities included in the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2023, which is implemented at the level of all Egyptian universities. It is also a unique opportunity for Alexandria University students to learn about and participate in major development projects in Egypt.
The festival represents an important platform to raise awareness of the importance of sustainable development and encourage creativity among Egyptian youth. It aims to introduce students from all governorates to the major development achievements in Egypt and provide them with the opportunity to participate in the huge development programs held in New Alamein.
It is worth noting that the festival is organizing a set of wonderful events, providing participants with a unique opportunity to see the latest developments in the New Alamein City, which is a model for modern urban development in Egypt.
Alexandria University’s Faculties and Institutes Board of Trustees Discusses Administrative Preparations of Faculties Organizing Entrance Exams for Academic Year 2024/2025
Alexandria University’s Board of Trustees of Faculties and Institutes, headed by Mr. Mohamed Fathy Abul-Nasr, Secretary-General of the University, discussed the administrative preparations for organizing entrance exams according to the timeframe for enrolment and registration for the academic year 2024/2025, stressing the need for the faculty secretaries to ensure the readiness of the coordination laboratories in preparation for receiving students to register to take the tests through the electronic coordination website on the Internet, during the period from Thursday 25 July 2024 until Thursday 8 August 2024. He also stressed the need to choose distinguished administrative cadres capable of overcoming all obstacles facing students while registering their majors.

• The Board also reviewed the status of the annual job requirements for university employees for the fiscal year 2024/2025 in terms of need and surplus.
• The Board was informed of the recommendations of the Human Resources Committee regarding organizing the procedures for secondment from abroad to work at the university, as the University Secretary stressed to the faculty secretaries to adhere to the mechanisms for implementing those recommendations
• The University Secretary stressed to the faculty secretaries the need to follow up on the lists of archives that are no longer needed according to their legal terms in preparation for sending them to the National Archives.
• The Board was informed of the points that must be considered and focused on when the university units prepare later for their special needs plan.
• The University Secretary thanked the secretaries of the university's faculties and institutes for the distinguished efforts made during the academic year 2023/2024, wishing them success in the coming years.



Alexandria University and Louisville University Celebrate Graduation of 2+2 Program First Batch, Based on their Cooperation Agreement
Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of Alexandria University for Community Service and Environmental Development, witnessed today, Thursday, 18 July 2024, the celebration of Alexandria University and Louisville University of the graduation of the first batch of the 2+2 program in Biomedical Engineering, based on the cooperation agreement signed between the two parties. The event was attended by Dr. Essam El-Kurdi, President of El Alamein International University, Dr. Rushdi Zahran, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of El Alamein International University, Dr. Essam Wahba, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Dr. Ayman El-Baz, Head of the Department of Bioengineering and Member of the Board of Trustees of El Alamein International University, Dr. Mustafa El-Naanaei, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering at El Alamein International University, Dr. Emmanuel Colin, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Louisville University, and Dr. Paul Hoffman, Assistant President of Louisville University for International Affairs.

In his speech, Dr. Saeed Allam confirmed that the meeting included celebrating the graduation of five students from Alexandria University from the Biomedical Engineering Program, based on the cooperation agreement signed between the two universities, noting that the expansion of cooperation between Alexandria University and Louisville University was discussed to include cooperation in other engineering programs to include civil, electrical, mechanical, chemical, civil, environmental and industrial engineering, in addition to discussing the signing of a joint master's degree between the two parties with a 1+1 system in various engineering specializations, and discussing ways of joint cooperation in student exchange and various research projects between the two parties.

Dr. Essam El-Kordy stressed the rules and foundations for acceptance into the 2+2 program, which will result in students receiving two bachelor's degrees from the two universities at the end of the study program, in addition to providing job opportunities after completing their studies in the United States of America for students.
Dr. Essam Wahba welcomed the delegation from Louisville University to the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University. He gave a presentation on the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, its programs, laboratories, and departments, and the joint international agreements concluded by the faculty with similar international colleges. Wahba stressed that this meeting is an exceptional opportunity for students from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, to benefit from the international programs that will be announced during the meeting.
Dr. Rushdi Zahran stressed that the meeting is a good opportunity for students to benefit from this agreement, expressing his hopes that more students will join this agreement, especially since it allows them to learn about different cultures.
The delegation from Louisville University expressed their pleasure for cooperating with Alexandria University, especially since it is one of the oldest universities in the Middle East. The delegation provided an overview of the summer research internship program opportunities in the United States of America.
At the end of the graduation ceremony, Dr. Saeed Allam, Dr. Essam El Kurdi, and Dr. Essam Wahba answered all students’ inquiries regarding admission to the 2+2 program signed between Alexandria University, Louisville University, and El Alamein International University.
Supreme Council of Universities Basic Sciences Sector Committee Holds its Meeting at Faculty of Science
Dr. Hesham Saeed, Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research, received this morning, on behalf of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, the Basic Sciences Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, headed by Dr. Essam Khamis, Chairman of the Basic Sciences Sector Committee, at the headquarters of the Faculty of Science in Muharram Bek, in the presence of Dr. Elhamy Tarabis, President of Damanhour University, Dr. Moawad El-Kholy, President of New Mansoura University, Dr. Sherine Khattab, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Mohamed Ismail, former President of Matrouh University, Dr. Mukhtar Youssef, former Vice President of Alexandria University, and Dr. Ahmed Younis, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mohamed El-Sayed Othman, Secretary of the Basic Sciences Sector Committee, in addition to the deans and representatives of the sector’s faculties in Egyptian universities, as well as members of the committee.

During the meeting, Dr. Hesham Saeed welcomed the committee to Alexandria University, stressing the university’s keenness to provide all support to the faculties of the basic sciences sector to carry out their educational and research role, hoping that the meeting would come up with meaningful recommendations to serve the educational system in Egyptian universities.
Alexandria University's Education and Student Affairs Council Discusses Enrollment and Admission Regulations for 2024/2025 Academic Year
The Council of Education and Student Affairs at Alexandria University, in its session held yesterday, headed by Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs, agreed to begin the procedures for students' enrollment, transfers, registration, and admissions for the academic year 2024/2025, as of August 15 for a month duration at all the university faculties.
Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen thanked the deans and vice deans of the faculties for the rapid completion of the exams control work and the grading, monitoring and revision work in preparation for announcing the exam results to the students as soon as possible.

Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen stressed to the deans and vice deans of the faculties the need to continue activating the role of academic advising in providing academic support to students, introducing them to the study systems and regulations, encouraging the outstanding and talented, helping the struggling students to raise their academic level, developing the students’ personal abilities, solving their problems, and correcting their academic progress, indicating the necessity of making every effort to provide facilities and overcome obstacles facing university students.
The university vice president praised the efforts made by the University’s Measurement and Evaluation Center, headed by Dr. Sameh Nakhla, in providing the necessary technical support and consultations on how to evaluate the various evaluation methods used, review curricula and examinations, and announce the results in the university’s faculties .
Dr. Sameh Nakhla reviewed the number of courses and tests whose results have been reviewed so far, which amounted to 5400 courses.
