The Council of Postgraduate Studies and Research is considering entering the ALECSO Science Portal to link academics and scientific institutions with a unified Arab portal
Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, confirmed during the Postgraduate Studies and Research Council held this morning, Tuesday, corresponding to 4/18/2023, that the digital library has conducted an initial evaluation of the Alexandria University journals, which scored 7 points in the evaluation of local Egyptian and Arabic journals. affiliated to the Supreme Council of Universities and the Academy of Scientific Research, in order to determine the readiness of these journals for inclusion in the Scopus database, the JCR database, and the DOAJ directory. With the aim of studying strengths and weaknesses to improve these journals before submitting them for official evaluation during this year, indicating that Alexandria University has 5 local periodicals that are already on the DOAJ directory and the university is currently working on adding 13 journals to the directory during this year, and the university is also working on improving the following scientific journals The Alexandria Journal of Land and Water Sciences, the New Journal of Agricultural Research, and the Alexandria Scientific Journal of Nursing will be added to the Scopus database as a first stage, and then complete the rest of the journals with 7 degrees in the local classification, respectively. This is in order to connect researchers, academics, and scientific institutions from all over the world with a unified Arab portal, and enable them to create their own introductory pages, and link them with their other pages on similar science portals, as well as social networking sites, so that this portal becomes a tool for selecting experts, arbitrators, and participants in its projects and conferences. And its upcoming seminars are among those registered in it, and Al-Ghandour stressed the need to cooperate with the organization to activate the portal and circulate it to universities, institutions, and research, academic and scientific bodies in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Alexandria University Wins First Place in Ramadan Football Tournament for International Students
Alexandria University won the first place in the Ramadan Football Five-a-side tournament for international students entitled “The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Cup for International Students (First Edition)”, which was held Thursday evening, in the presence of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, who handed the Championship Cup to the Alexandria University team.
This Ramadan tournament comes on the side-lines of the activities of the workshop organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on the international students system, in light of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, a number of Egyptian university presidents, ambassadors and cultural advisors in Arab and African embassies, in addition to a group of Ministry leaders, as well as several international students from different nationalities.
For Second Year in a row.. Alexandria University Organizes Iftar event for International Students
On the evening of Wednesday the 12th of April 2023, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, witnessed the collective Iftar event for international students, organized by the Department of International Student Affairs and Welfare at the university, with the aim of increasing social ties and documenting and enriching human relations between international students.

The event was attended by Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Khaled Muhareb, Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Alexandria, Dr. Abdullah Al-Harhasha, Cultural Advisor to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Cairo, Dr. Raafat Badran, Consul General of Palestine in Alexandria, Mr. Mohamed Hammad, Cultural Affairs Officer at the Palestinian Consulate, Mr. Khairy Abdullah, Education Affairs Officer at the Malaysian Embassy, Mr. Husni Bin Hashim, Director of the Mara Foundation, Dr. Hala Maklad, Director of the International Students Administration at Alexandria University, in addition to representatives of a number of embassies, and 180 foreign students studying at Alexandria University of various Arab, Asian and African nationalities, he also praised the organization of that meeting, which brings together different cultures and helps to integrate and bring together the Egyptian culture with the diverse cultures of the students.
During the ceremony, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa welcomed all attendees, stressing the university’s keenness to organize this ceremony annually in line with the “Study in Egypt” initiative launched by the Ministry of Higher Education, under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and constructive communication with foreign students studying at Alexandria University, which leaves a good impression in their memory after they return to their home countries.
The meeting included taking souvenir photos, and an acquaintance session between the students.



Alexandria University President Participates in Distributing Iftar Meals to People of Montazah Villages
Within the framework of the community service role of Alexandria University, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, participated Wednesday the 12th of April 2023, in distributing Iftar meals and Ramadan goods to the people of one of the villages in El-Montazah countryside, in cooperation with Ehna El Kheir “We Are the Good” charity organization, and in the presence of Dr. Wafaa El-Sehly, coordinator of medical convoys at Alexandria University. The event was organized by the General Administration of Youth Welfare at the university.
President of Alexandria University witnesses the award ceremony of the Choir and Solo Singing Festival at the Freedom Center for Creativity
Within the framework of the fruitful cooperation between Alexandria University and the Freedom Center for Creativity in Alexandria, Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, witnessed, on Sunday evening, 9/4/2023, the award ceremony of the Choir Festival and Solo Singing for students of Alexandria University faculties, at the Freedom Center for Creativity in Alexandria, in the presence of Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Enas Diab, Director of the Freedom Center for Creativity, and the deans and vice deans of the various faculties.
In his speech, Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa congratulated the Christian brothers on the occasion of the Palm Sunday celebration, and stressed that Alexandria University provides all support for the various student activities aimed at refining the students’ personality, and providing them with the skills and capabilities that enable them to be creative and able to take responsibility and participate in building the new republic, and congratulated His Excellency He wished the winning teams more progress and excellence, and pointed out that the university is seeking to form a choir team at the highest level of excellence and will receive all support from the university administration.
In her speech, Dr. Enas Diab expressed her happiness with holding this celebration in the Freedom Center for Creativity, based on the center's mission to promote serious arts and high culture and to encourage and support creative youth in confirmation of the soft power of our beloved Egypt, which comes as confirmation of the university's interest in supporting cultural and artistic activities for youth and encouraging promising talents in Areas of individual and group vocal performance.
This was followed by announcing the results of the festival and honoring the winning colleges in the first three places. The results of the festival resulted in the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Commerce winning the first place equally, the Faculty of Physical Education for Boys winning the second place, and the Faculty of Science winning the third place, and the first place award in solo singing was won by the student Yahya Farag. From the Faculty of Physical Education, the student Sarah Aziz won the second place, the Faculty of Education, and the third place, the student Fouad Samir, the Faculty of Commerce, and the student Mayar Saad, the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science, came in the fourth place, and the student Mariam Jamal, the Faculty of Science, came in the fifth place.
The ceremony included performances by the Faculty of Commerce choir team - led by Dr. Sherihan Al-Hudaini, and the university's folklore team, in cooperation with the Alexandria Culture, trained by the artist/ Nasr El-Din Mohamed, and a paragraph presented by the choir team of the College of Education - led by Dr. Islam Saeed.
