Dr. Konsowa Congratulates the Winners of the Third Place in UNESCO IIOE Competition for Designing a Micro-Course on Digital Learning Development
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated Dr. Dina Nabil, Deputy Executive Director of the Educational Innovations and Distance Learning Unit at the Faculty of Fine Arts, and Dr. Syed Abdel Mawla, Head of the Department of Educational Technology, Faculty of Education for winning the third place in the IIOE competition of UNESCO, for designing a micro-course on the development of digital learning.
They indicated that IIOE Arabic Micro-course Competition was organized by the UNESCO Higher Education Innovation Centre (Shenzhen-China), Huawei Company, and the House of Wisdom Group for Cultural Industries, with the aim of guiding teachers in colleges and universities in Arabic-speaking regions to transfer teaching from traditional classes to virtual ones, discover mini-lesson models in Arabic, and disseminate the production of lectures presented in Arabic language, in order to enhance the sharing and mutual benefit of high-quality educational resources in light of the digital development witnessed by the academic world.



Alexandria University President Reviews Plan to Establish Double Degrees with Prestigious International Universities
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, reviewed during the university council meeting in its session, the main axes of the strategic plan of Alexandria University to achieve its vision, which comes within the framework of achieving Egypt's vision 2030, to become a leading university with global competitiveness that contributes to sustainable community development, and the creation of a smart environment that stimulates innovation and creativity. Where he explained that Alexandria University seeks to become a center for cross-border higher education through partnerships for branches of foreign universities and the expansion of the establishment of programs and dual degrees with the most prestigious international universities, as well as the establishment of international partnerships to support the technology park within Alexandria University, and he also announced the signing of the joint degree in dentistry between the University of Alexandria and the University of Manchester, Britain, during this month, and the start of studies in this program next October. He stressed that the university seeks, through this trend, to provide high educational services with global competitiveness in various disciplines to attract students from different countries of the world and to make Alexandria University a regional and international center in providing services in the field of higher education, scientific research, technology and training. Its main objectives are to improve the quality of education in free programs and to provide its graduates with the necessary skills for the local and global labor market at a global level of quality and competitiveness without burdening the public budget with additional burdens.
* The council honored the deans of the faculties of medicine, engineering, pharmacy, science, the Institute of Medical Research, the Higher Institute of Public Health, and the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, for the efforts of the faculty members of these faculties in raising the university’s ranking in the British QS classification of universities. The council also confirmed that the deans of the Faculties councils should honor the heads of scientific departments distinguished in the international rankings and hand over certificates for their departments..
* The council approved the accreditation of two credit hour system programs at the Faculty of Pharmacy, which are the Diploma in Quality Assurance and Excellence in Health Care, and the Master’s in Quality Assurance and Excellence in Health Care.
* The council also approved the establishment of a credit hours system master's program in Regenerative Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry.
* The council approved the memorandum of understanding between Alexandria University (Faculty of Physical Education for Women) and its counterpart at Mutah University in Jordan, the memorandum of understanding between Alexandria University (Faculty of Nursing) and the College of Health Sciences at Fort Hare University in South Africa, and the cooperation agreement between Alexandria University and Shandong Normal University, Jinan, China. The council also approved the memorandum of understanding between Alexandria University (Faculty of Fine Arts) and Irbid Private University in Jordan, and the memorandum of understanding between Alexandria University and the University of Airlangga, Indonesia.
* The council approved the promotion of 22 faculty members, 13 to the position of professor, and 9 to the position of associate professor, and the appointment of 15 lecturers, the granting of 46 PhD degrees and 84 master's degrees in various scientific disciplines.












Alexandria University Council Honours Faculty of Law Team, Second Place Winner in “Arab Moot Court” Competition

The Alexandria University Council, headed by Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, honoured on its meeting, the team of students of the Faculty of Law at Alexandria University, who won the second place in the “Arab Moot Court” competition in its ninth edition, which was recently held in the State of Kuwait, under the auspices of Kuwait International Law School.
In his speech, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa extended his thanks and appreciation to the Kuwait International Law School for the distinguished efforts it made during this competition. He also thanked the administration of the Faculty of Law, Alexandria University, indicating that Alexandria University always seeks to develop educational curricula, use modern technologies, and focus on continuous training to have highly efficient alumni with creativity and innovation.

While Dr. Mohamed El-Feky explained that the Arab Moot Court is a scientific legal competition that brings together students of law schools in the Arab world annually for scientific competition on a hypothetical case, through which students are trained on how to write legal notes and plead before a committee of arbitrators with the aim of honing legal talents and work on the excellence of the participating students through the exchange of experiences and different cultures. He pointed out that the team of the Faculty of Law, Alexandria University, started the national qualifiers stage since last December, which ended with winning the first place, and then went through several stages of the qualifiers, in which 23 universities representing 13 Arab countries participated in the competition. This competition, which is one of the most prominent legal competitions in the Arabic language, ended with the Alexandria University team winning the second place after a strong match.

- Dr. Mohamed Hassan Kafafi, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Criminal Law, Faculty of Law
- Students Ibrahim Ahmed Sarhan, Basant Abdelhamid, Youssef Momtaz Hanna, and Farah Maher Zidan.





Presidential Decree Appointing Dr. Rehab Mahmoud Seddik as Dean of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received Dr. Rehab Mahmoud Seddik, where he congratulated her on the issuance of the presidential decree appointing her as Dean of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, wishing her success in assuming the duties of her position, and continuous efforts to raise the level of the faculty. He stressed that the university will provide all forms of support and assistance to help her in carrying out her mission successfully.
Education and Student Affairs Council of Alexandria University Conveys Eid Greetings to its Members
Professor Dr. Wael Nabil Abdel Salam, Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs congratulated the Council members on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, during the meeting of the Education and Student Affairs Council, today, Wednesday, the 19th of April.
* He also congratulated Dr. Nelly Mostafa, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. Mahmoud El-Sehli, Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, on the occasion of the University President’s decision to appoint them as assistants to the Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.
* Professor Dr. Wael Nabil congratulated Alexandria University for winning the first place in the Ramadan Football Five-a-side Tournament for international students, which was held under the title of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Cup for international students in its first edition.
* He congratulated both the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Commerce for winning the first place equally in the Choir and Solo Singing Festival. Dr. Wael Nabil pointed out that Alexandria University is in the process of developing a plan for the choir team at Alexandria University to reach a level of professionalism that qualifies it to participate in local and international competitions.
* Within the framework of active cooperation between Alexandria University and the industrial community, the Council approved a cooperation protocol between the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University, and the Center for Industry Modernization, to cooperate in the fields of exploiting the outputs of the faculty students’ projects in various departments, to meet the challenges facing the Egyptian industrial society.
* The Council also discussed several issues related to the problems facing students in the credit hours system and developed mechanisms to solve them, in addition to discussing the development of the elective university requirements and developing a vision to be applied for the new academic year 2023-2024.
