Dr. El-Ghandour Receives Russian Delegation to Discuss Possibility of Opening Russian Universities Branches at Alexandria University
On Monday, the 29th of May 2023, Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour, Vice President of Alexandria University for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, received a Russian delegation consisting of representatives of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the ROSATOM Corporation for Russian Nuclear Energy. The meeting was attended by Dr. Sameh Shehata, supervisor of the International Relations Office at Alexandria University, Dr. Boshra Salem, Assistant President of the University for Universities Ranking, Dr. Walid Abdelazim, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, Dr. Sherine Abdelsalam, Coordinator of the International Program for Neurosciences at the Faculty of Science, and Dr. Nelly Mostafa, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Assistant Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.

In his speech, Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour stressed that the relations between Egypt and Russia are historical and deep-rooted, indicating that the meeting came with the aim of discussing issues related to opening branches of Russian universities at Alexandria University, on the side-lines of the second conference between Russia and Africa that will be held in St. Petersburg in July 2023. He added that the meeting also included a study of the establishment of joint scientific degrees in the bachelor's and doctoral levels, as well as the exchange of students and faculty members between Alexandria University and Russian universities.

While the Russian delegation reviewed the Russian universities and the scientific programs proposed for cooperation between them and Alexandria University. The delegation expressed its full readiness to cooperate with Alexandria University, especially as it is one of the leading universities in the Middle East and Africa.


The 12th Festival of Performing Arts at Alexandria University concludes its work and honors the winning students
Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the closing ceremony of distributing individual awards and distinction awards for the 12th Festival of Performing Arts was held, organized by the Technical Committee of the Alexandria University Students Union in the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Nursing, in the presence of the deans of the faculties and the vice deans of the university faculties for education and student affairs.
The awards were distributed by Dr. Muhammad Bahi El-Din, Dean of the College of Agriculture, on behalf of Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. During the festival, 17 theatrical performances were held in the theaters of the Freedom Center for Creativity, the Anfushi Culture Palace Theater, and the University Theatre, under the supervision of the jury consisting of Dr. Manal Fouda, Professor of Acting and Directing and Head of the Theater Department at the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Sedika Lashin, Professor of Acting at the Theater Department at the Faculty of Arts, and Dr. Dalia Fouad, Lecturer of Decoration at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts.
The jury announced that the show “Ras Al Ghoul” for the Faculty of Pharmacy won the first place, and the show “Saint-Malo” for the Faculty of Engineering won the second place, and the show “Captain Yahya Al-Nashed Team” faculty of arts won the third place, and the student Ahmed Abdel Rahim - Faculty of Pharmacy won the best director award, and the student Ahmed Ashraf - Faculty of Pharmacy won the award for best actor in a first role, student Elizabeth Naim - Faculty of Engineering won the award for best actress in a first role, student Abdul Rahman Adel - Faculty of Engineering won the award for best actor in a second role, and student Farah Nader - Faculty of Fine Arts won the award for best actress in a second role. And the student Ahmed Helmy - the Faculty of Pharmacy won the best decoration award, and the student Mohamed Salah - the Faculty of Education won the best choreographic award, and the student Ahmed Tariq from the Faculty of Law won the best lighting award, and the student Ahmed Helmy - the Faculty of Pharmacy won the best clothes award, and the student Mohamed Ibrahim - the Faculty of Education won the best music award, The student Nada Haridi from the Faculty of Pharmacy won the best makeup award.
















Alexandria University Students Participate in "Decent Life" Initiative Training second Program
Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and as a continuation of the training program launched by the Decent Life Foundation for university students in cooperation with the National Presidential Academy for Training, the second session of the program started today, and 30 students from Alexandria University students, with the aim of enhancing the role of volunteer work, and introducing the Decent Life Foundation and the national project "Decent Life" through community participation from various governorates).

The training today included a lecture on project management, and carrying out more than one practical activity for training on teamwork through projects that benefit a decent life, which gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience for volunteer work. It also included a lecture on leadership skills during which leadership skills were explained in terms of their importance, types, and how their development.
This training program comes as an effort by the Foundation to spread the culture of volunteer work and the importance of enhancing awareness among young people and youth, especially university students, of the role of community participation, providing students with the necessary skills and experience, encouraging them to volunteer work, in addition to contributing to building a good citizen who has a sense of responsibility to participate in public life. By preparing training programs and field visits that enhance the value of charitable and voluntary work.
Alexandria University Launches Medical Convoy to Public Prosecution Complex in Smouha
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, gave the starting signal for the launch of the comprehensive medical convoy organized by the University’s Community Service and Environmental Development Sector for the Prosecution Complex in Smouha, to carry out an examination of the administrators working in the complex, in medical specialties including Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics.

Dr. Konsowa confirmed that the convoy includes a number of experienced people in the field of human medicine in various medical specialties to sign the examination of the administrators working in the Smouha Prosecution Complex, within the framework of Alexandria University’s keenness to perform its leading role in providing medical services to civil society and spreading health care among all citizens.
Dr. Wafaa El-Sehli, a member of the medical convoys at Alexandria University and pioneer of the "Doctor for You" family, indicated that the convoy signed a medical examination on 307 cases, including 61 internal cases, 66 eye cases, 50 skin cases, 50 bone cases, and 80 blood pressure and sugar scans, medicines were provided free of charge and critical cases were transferred to the main university hospital.
Alexandria University’s Community Service and Environmental Development Council Reviewed Various Activities at Faculties
The Community Service and Environmental Development Council, headed by Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour, Vice President of Alexandria University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, stressed the need to continue applying preventive measures during the final exams as part of the university's readiness to participate in the competition for the best environment-friendly university.
. The Council reviewed the report submitted by Dr. Magda El-Shazly, a member of the Council and Rapporteur of the National Council for Women in Alexandria, on economic empowerment and women’s training, as well as Alexandria University’s preparations to participate in the national initiative for smart green projects through the project submitted by the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She also stressed the importance of cooperation between faculties in "Baladi Amana" campaign which is held under the auspices of the National Council for Women at the level of the governorates of Egypt. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the challenges facing society in light of global crises, by promoting a positive outlook for the future, and explaining the role of major national projects in achieving the desired development to improve the quality of life for citizens.
• The Council reviewed the report submitted by the Faculty of Agriculture on its organization of a number of seminars, namely: the Domestic Economics and Climate Change seminar, the seminar on the Virtues of the Holy Month of Ramadan - Commemorating the Glorious October Victory, as well as holding a workshop on Integration between the University and the Chemical Industries, and organizing the twelfth employment forum entitled Agricultural and Industrial Entrepreneurs Forum, The council also reviewed reports on the Agricultural Education convoys organized in cooperation with the Directorate of Agriculture in Alexandria.
The Council took note of the report of the Faculty of Education on the first scientific conference of the English Language Department entitled "Women of the World" with the participation of Egyptian, Arab and foreign researchers, as well as the number of literacy classes that were registered at the faculty last April.
The Council was also informed that the Education and Public Service Unit at the Faculty of Dentistry organized a summer training program for students from outside the faculty at the clinical stage.

The Council reviewed the report submitted by Dr. Walid Abdelazim, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, on the results of the Engineering Forum for Business and Jobs, which was held at the Faculty of Engineering last week. The forum aims to provide employment and internship opportunities for students and graduates in various engineering disciplines in cooperation with major industrial companies.
The council was informed that several faculties have organized some different activities, as follows:
- Holding a workshop at the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research entitled "Chemical Analysis Using a Double Induction Plasma Device”, a lecture entitled “Materials Science and the Hamis Webb Telescope”, a lecture on the “Production of Polymers by Bacteria and their Applications”, and a lecture entitled “My experience with Industry”.
- Reports on seminars organized by the Faculty of Physical Education for Women, such as “Parents’ Contributions in Psychological Dealing with Young Athletes”, “Early Marriage and the Population Issue”, “Spinal Injuries Diagnosis and Treatment”, and “Early Detection of Chronic Diseases and Renal Impairment.”
- A report on a number of activities organized by the Faculty of Agriculture - Saba Pasha Campus, such as a symposium on biological treatment, a seminar entitled "Your Food is Your Medicine", another entitled "The Philosophy of Fasting in the Divine Religions", and a third seminar entitled "No to Bullying and Harassment for a Better Society", as well as the faculty's social solidarity work during the holy month of Ramadan.
