Jean Moulin 3 French University Delegation Visits Alexandria University to Discuss Cooperation
Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of Alexandria University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, on behalf of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, received yesterday the delegation of the French University of Jean Moulin 3 to discuss ways of cooperation between the two sides in areas of common interest.
The delegation included Mr. Manuel Jobert, Vice President for Europe and International Francophone Relations, Ms. Hong Khanh Dang, Deputy Director of the International Institute of Francophonie for Research, and Ms. Alida Sahli, International Cooperation Officer for the Near and Middle East, North Africa and Francophonie. The meeting was attended by Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President for Education and Students, Dr. Sameh Shehata, Supervisor of the International Relations Office at Alexandria University, Dr. Bushra Salem, Assistant President for University Classification, Dr. Naglaa Abou-Agag, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Reem Hafez, Head of the Department of Applied Linguistics at the Faculty of Arts, and Dr. Mai Essam, Head of the Department of French Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts.
In his speech, Dr. Saeed Allam welcomed the delegation of Jean Moulin 3 University to Alexandria University, explaining that the meeting discussed the possibility of cooperation in the fields of environmental transformation, citizenship, cultural and linguistic pluralism, digital humanities, and the possibility of Alexandria University joining the International Alliance of French-speaking Universities, which was announced in June 2023, as member universities in this alliance will submit projects for cooperation in the previous fields and achieve multilateral scientific cooperation between researchers from French-speaking Mediterranean universities. He pointed out that this cooperation is expected to target university professors, researchers, graduate students, and sociologists.
Dr. Hisham Saeed reviewed the international agreements between Alexandria University and French universities, and the cooperation between Alexandria University and the universities of Aix-Marseille, Poitiers, Bordeaux, Toulouse, and Grenoble, in addition to the presence of a branch of Alexandria University in Chad to serve French-speaking countries (Francophone) in the African continent.
Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen pointed out that there are many departments specializing in the French language in several faculties within Alexandria University, and that it has partnerships with many French universities, stressing that there is a special program at the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, that is taught in French and attracts most students from Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire and many French-speaking African countries. Mr. Manuel Jobert expressed his pleasure with the cooperation with Alexandria University, especially since there is a historical and cultural dimension that links Egypt and France. Jobert also reviewed the objectives of the International Alliance of French-speaking Universities and its funding bodies, noting that this alliance aims to enhance and establish joint international projects at the level of French-speaking universities, expressing his aspiration for Alexandria University to join this alliance, especially since it is one of the oldest universities in the Middle East.







President of Alexandria University Receives Australian Ambassador to Cairo
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received today at the university headquarters in Shatby, Dr. Axel Wabenhorst, the Australian Ambassador to Cairo, and his accompanying delegation, to discuss enhancing the frameworks of joint cooperation between Alexandria University and Australian universities and academic institutions.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of the University for Education and Students Affairs, Dr. Bushra Salem, Assistant President of the University for International Classifications, Dr. Gihan Gewaifel, Assistant President of the University for International University Branches Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Abdelhakim, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and Dr. Essam Wahba, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
In his speech, Dr. Konsowa welcomed the Australian Ambassador to Alexandria University, stressing the university's keenness to develop relations with Australian academic institutions in areas of common interest. He pointed out that Alexandria University seeks to improve the level of educational service and scientific research, and enhance international competitiveness within the framework of Egypt's Vision 2030, by establishing dual and joint degrees with highly ranked international universities, establishing branches of international universities in cooperation and coordination with Alexandria University, and developing the African role through the university's branches in Chad and South Sudan. He pointed out the university's support for scientific research and taking several measures in this regard, including launching an initiative to support young researchers, financing applicable research projects, and establishing the Alexandria University Technology Park incubator. He also pointed out the university's interest in linking scientific research to industry, especially in the fields of water, energy, and agriculture, through the activities and programs provided by the Water Excellence Centre at the university.
The Australian Ambassador expressed his pleasure for being at Alexandria University, which has a distinguished academic reputation, within the framework of the distinguished relations between Egypt and Australia, stressing his country's keenness to develop scientific and research cooperation with Egyptian academic institutions in general and Alexandria University in particular, in the fields of engineering, mining, water, new and renewable energy, and agriculture.
Alexandria National University Medical Students Win First Places in Competition of 10 Groups in 6 Egyptian Universities
The second year students of the medicine program at Alexandria National University won first place, and the first year students of the same program won third place in a competition between 10 groups of students representing faculties of medicine in 6 Egyptian universities, on the sidelines of the medical conference organized by the Medical Association for the Study and Management of Obesity (MASMO).
It is worth noting that the students of the medical program at Alexandria National University are the only ones who won two awards during the competition, under the supervision of Dr. Radwa Mehanna, the general coordinator of the program.
African Dimension of Alexandria University, Central and West, Inspection of the University Branch in Tokra, N'Djamena
Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, accompanied by Dr. Ali Mohamed Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdallah Zaki, General Coordinator of the University Branch in N'Djamena, inspected the new facilities of the Alexandria University Branch in Tokra - N'Djamena. They were accompanied by Dr. Mohamed Saleh Dosa, President of N'Djamena University, the university's vice presidents and faculty members, Engineer Mohamed El-Keiy, Director of Arab Contractors Chad, engineers of Arab Contractors Company - Chad Branch, as well as students and graduates of the branch in a remarkable welcoming scene expressing their love and appreciation for Alexandria University.
During the tour, the University President praised the achievements of the branch and its establishment at the highest level with the support and funding of the Egyptian state, to be a leading branch whether in Chad or the whole Central and West African region, and to keep pace with the developments in the educational process and the new programs planned to be established at the branch. Dr. Konsowa pointed out the agreement to allocate part of the branch's land to establish an agricultural and animal educational research farm that will have a productive and industrial agricultural and animal role and contribute to the development of animal wealth and the agricultural and industrial aspects related to its activities. The branch will also establish a specialized medical centre in the specialties of ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, and dentistry, and will be the nucleus for serving Uthe medical programs planned to be established at the branch. The University President stressed the keenness of the Egyptian and Chadian sides to achieve a real partnership, so that the branch will be a beacon of science in Chad and neighbouring African countries, providing a package of good educational services, and opening new horizons for education in Central and West Africa with pioneering educational programs, some of which have double degrees with international universities.



President of Alexandria University Attends Graduation Ceremony of Third Batch Students from University Branch in N'Djamena-Chad
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Tom Erdimi, Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education and Vocational Training in the Republic of Chad, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, witnessed the graduation ceremony of the third batch of students from the Faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (in their Arabic and French sections) at the Alexandria University branch in N'Djamena-Chad, in the Grand Hall of the Faculty of Science and Human Health.
The celebration was attended by Ambassador Osama El-Hadi, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Chad, Dr. Mohamed Baraka, President of the Western Academy and former President of the University of N'Djamena, Dr. Mohamed Saleh Dosa, President of the University of N'Djamena, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdallah Zaki, Coordinator of the Alexandria University Branch in Chad, Engineer Mohamed El-Keiy, President of the Arab Contractors Chad Branch, and the presidents of the various universities in Chad, deans of faculties, faculty members of the branch and the university, technical directors of the University of N'Djamena, officials of the Arab Contractors Company in Chad, officials of the Animal Wealth, the Animal Wealth Research Centre, the Agricultural Research Centre, parents of students, and branch students.
The ceremony began with the national anthems of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Chad, followed by a welcoming speech delivered by Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdallah Zaki, the branch coordinator, in which he spoke about the role of the branch since its establishment, and its achievements to date.

In his speech, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated the graduates on this occasion, stressing that they are the torchbearers of progress and the future leaders who will shape the modern state of Chad. He stressed that the branch of Alexandria University in the Republic of Chad will expand in offering educational programs in new specialization,s to serve the development needs of Chad and the Central and West African region, some of which will be for double degrees at Alexandria University in cooperation with international universities in Arabic, French and English, noting that Alexandria University is working seriously to continue initiatives, research projects and joint educational programs, within the framework of the two sides' keenness to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and create a brighter future for the countries of the continent.
Dr. Mohamed Saleh Dosa, President of the University of N'Djamena, expressed his pleasure with the fruitful and successful cooperation between Alexandria University and the University of N'Djamena, which resulted in the graduation of three batches from the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in its Arabic and French departments.
Ambassador Osama El Hadi praised the strong and historical relations between the two countries and the cooperation in various fields.
This was followed by the distribution of certificates of honour by the ceremony platform and the honourable guests. The top graduates were also honoured with financial and incentive awards by the Arab Contractors Company, Chad branch.
