Alexandria University Education and Student Affairs Council Reviews Timeline for Academic Year 2024/2025
During its meeting headed by Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs, the Education and Student Affairs Council reviewed the timeline for the academic year 2024/2025, according to what was announced by the Supreme Council of Universities, as lectures begin on September 28, 2024 and continue until January 2, 2025, and the first semester vacation begins on January 25, 2025 and continues for two weeks, while the second semester begins on February 8, 2025 and continues until May 29, 2025, and the second semester final exams begin during the month of June 2025 according to the nature of the study and exams in each faculty.

Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen stressed to the faculty vice deans the necessity of adhering to developing the academic advising system in an integrated manner by providing support and training to faculty members, providing academic advising guides and awareness lectures to students to familiarize them with everything they need about the laws and regulations governing their studies at the university in a clear and simple manner, and sending e-mails to students on their university e-mail to clarify the procedures related to their study system.

Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen thanked the vice deans for the efforts made during the past academic year, announcing the results of all faculties on time and the regularity of the aptitude exams in accordance with the systems and regulations established by the Supreme Council of Universities.


During the council meeting, Dr. Ghada El-Khayat, Director of the Centre for Educational Innovations and Distance Learning, gave a presentation on the most important previous and ongoing activities of the centre, most notably the PILOT Business Incubator project, the centre’s role in providing technical support to faculty members and producing electronic and digital courses, organizing workshops on digital education, international conferences periodically and seasonal training programs for faculty members in addition to many activities and initiatives.
Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen praised the efforts of the General Administration of Youth Welfare and the distinguished participation of the university's male and female students in the events and activities of the El Alamein Festival.
• Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen congratulated the deans and vice deans newly appointed by the university president, namely: Professor Dr. Ayman Shetewi, who was assigned to act as Dean of the Faculty of Business, Professor Dr. Magda Madbouly, who was assigned to act as Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Data Sciences, Professor Dr. Islam Amin, who was appointed as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education for Boys for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Jihan Abul-Kheir, who was appointed as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education for Education and Student Affairs, and the renewal of the appointment of Professor Dr. Ibrahim Rahab and Dr. Sameh Nakhla as external members in the Education and Student Affairs Council.

The Council honoured Professor Dr. Ahmed Mahdi for his achievements, on the occasion of the end of his tenure as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for Education and Student Affairs, wishing him success.

President of Alexandria University Congratulates Faculty of Economics and Political Science Student for Passing “Global Village for Future Leaders” International Program
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated Farah Mustafa Mahmoud, student at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science for her completion of the “Global Village for Future Leaders” program, as part of her obtaining a fully funded scholarship from the Iacocca Institute of Lehigh University, wishing her success and good luck.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, honoured the student, explaining that the scholarship she passed primarily aimed to gather young professional entrepreneurs and top university students from all over the world to learn from current leaders and transfer accumulated experiences through an intensive and diverse educational program based on developing their personal leadership vision, and building lifelong relationships in the hope of forming new visions for future leadership.

For her part, the student thanked the university president, the dean of the faculty, and her professors at the faculty for the support she received from them, noting that the training program provided her with opportunities for direct interaction with many international bodies such as the United Nations, the World Bank, and the International Labor Organization, in addition to attending workshops and lectures as the only Arab participant in the program. She also had the opportunity to communicate with 55 participants from 38 different countries. She added that she also participated in a strategic project to discover potential partnerships between Egypt and Singapore, and she also had a training opportunity there with Ilico Genetics, an American company based in Philadelphia that focuses on early detection of stomach cancer. She also worked with an international team of global leaders to develop a marketing strategy and data analysis for that company.

Alexandria University participates in the Higher Education Exhibition in its third edition
Dr. Abdelaziz Konswa, President of Alexandria University, witnessed this morning, Saturday, August 17, 2024, the opening of the activities of the Higher Education Exhibition in its third edition, which is organized by Akhbar Al-Youm Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, under the patronage of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister Higher education, in the presence of Dr. Reda Hegazy, former Minister of Education, Dr. Ali Abdel Mohsen, Acting Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Khashin, academic supervisor of Alexandria National University, Dr. Hala Moqled, Director of the Expatriates Department at Alexandria University, and journalist Refaat Fayyad, Director of Editing Akhbar Al-Youm, a group of university presidents, pioneers of higher education, and a large number of students, and it is held for one day at the Library of Alexandria and continues until seven in the evening.
In his speech, Dr. Konswa praised Akhbar Al-Youm Foundation’s good organization of the exhibition’s activities, which is an opportunity for students and parents to learn about the various academic programs and respond to all questions regarding specializations and fees, in addition to the administrative and coordination details and application procedures, which contributes to helping them choose the best programs that match their desires and needs. Dr. Qanswa pointed out that Alexandria University is participating in the exhibition with two pavilions to introduce the faculties and programs of Alexandria University and Alexandria National University, and to respond to the inquiries of students and parents. Graduate Studies and Research Council Discusses Solving Problems Facing International Students
Alexandria University’s Council of Graduate Studies and Research, headed by Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, in its meeting held this morning, Thursday, 15th of August 2024, discussed the difficulties facing international students in the graduate studies and research sector, stressing the need to encourage them to study at Alexandria University and overcome all the difficulties they face, and facilitate all procedures of the application process at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, considering them a source of support for the state's economy, and support for Egypt's pioneering role in the field of higher education.
Dr. Hisham Saeed indicated that the Council of Graduate Studies and Research followed up on the work of the committee entrusted with unifying the format of graduate studies and research certificates at the level of faculties and institutes of Alexandria University, and indicated that the council reviewed a group of different designs for the format of certificates to reach the best design so that their design is unified in a manner befitting Alexandria University and its graduates, stressing that their translation into English will also be unified to be identical to the Arabic language in the certificate.

The Council approved the cooperation agreement between Alexandria University and Southampton University in Britain, and the cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Science, Alexandria University and Vita Biotics Pharmaceutical Industries.
The Council also discussed the topics of the Committee of Teaching Assistants and Assistant Lecturers, scientific missions, and study leaves to obtain Master's and Doctorate degrees.
Alexandria University Choir Participates in Ceremony Honouring High School Toppers at "Alamein World 2024" Festival
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Alexandria University Choir, under the Cultural and Artistic Activity Department and sponsored by the University Youth, participated in the ceremony honouring high school toppers at the "Alamein World 2024" Festival, where the choir, led by Dr. Sherihan El-Heddini, presented a selection of the most beautiful artistic and musical performances, which were well received by the audience.
