President of Alexandria University Congratulates Director of Alexandria Security on Assuming His New Position
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, visited the Alexandria Security Directorate, where he congratulated Major General Hassan Attia on assuming the position of Assistant Minister of Interior and Director of Alexandria Security, wishing him success and guidance.
The university president was accompanied during the visit by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research.
During the visit, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa appreciated the effective efforts made by the Egyptian police to maintain the security and stability of the homeland in all work sites and throughout our beloved country Egypt. The two sides discussed ways of support and cooperation between the two parties, as Dr. Konsowa stressed that the university is the house of expertise for the governorate, that provides development projects with the necessary studies, and contributes with its distinguished human cadres scientifically and research-wise in providing the necessary consultations, within the framework of everyone's endeavour to implement the vision and strategy of the Egyptian state under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.
The Director of Alexandria Security also expressed his appreciation for this visit and the extension of cooperation ties, praising the many achievements of Alexandria University, and wishing the University President all the best in achieving the university's ambitious plan to remain a beacon of science and knowledge inside and outside Egypt. At the end of the visit, Dr. Konsowa presented the University Shield to the Director of Security in appreciation of the efforts of the police force in maintaining security within the country.
President of Alexandria University Congratulates First Assistant Minister of Interior for West Delta on Assuming His New Position
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, visited the Alexandria Security Directorate headquarters, where he congratulated Major General Ahmed Thabet on assuming the position of First Assistant Minister of Interior for the West Delta region, wishing him success and guidance.
The university president was accompanied during the visit by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research.
During the visit, Dr. Konsowa expressed his sincere wishes for success and prosperity to the First Assistant Minister in his mission to continue the march of security and safety witnessed by the governorate, wishing him continued progress and success in his work and the advancement of the security system within the West Delta sector.
For his part, Major General Ahmed Thabet expressed his gratitude and appreciation for this kind gesture from the university president, stressing the fruitful and constructive cooperation between the two sides.
At the end of the visit, Dr. Konsowa presented the University Shield to Major General Ahmed Thabet in appreciation of the efforts of the police force in maintaining security within the country.
Alexandria University receives Delegation from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
In an important step towards enhancing international cooperation, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received today a delegation from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, headed by Professor Dr. Rowan Parks, with the aim of discussing and cooperating to provide accredited training programs for students of the Faculty of Dentistry to provide the necessary skills in line with the requirements of the international labour market, and to work on developing and describing the faculty's curricula to match international classification requirements, in addition to cooperating in training accredited lecturers, qualifying examiners, and implementing several joint programs in continuing education and postgraduate studies with the university.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Sameh Shehata, Supervisor of the International Relations Office at Alexandria University, Dr. Gihan Gewaifel, Assistant of University President for International Cooperation and International Universities, Dr. Boshra Salem, Assistant of University President for International Classifications, and Dr. Ahmed Abdelhakim, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry.
During the meeting, the university president stressed the importance of this cooperation, which puts Alexandria University on the threshold of a qualitative leap that enhances the position of higher education at Alexandria University globally, which comes as a confirmation of the quality of Egyptian higher education and the confidence of international bodies in our universities. The university president praised the new advantages added by this cooperation, as it contributes to enabling the professional practice of students of the Faculty of Dentistry on a large scale and opening more job opportunities for Egyptian graduates in local, regional and international labour markets, training doctors and accrediting the specialized degrees of the Faculty of Dentistry from the requirements of various specialized fellowships, and the faculty clinics as a clinical training centre, and conducting electronic followship exams. He also valued the constructive cooperation relations that bring together Alexandria University and British universities in the field of higher education and scientific research in many academic specializations.
Professor Rowan Parks expressed his pleasure with this cooperation, which focuses mainly on creating global standards for surgical and dental practices and welcomed the transfer of the Royal College of Surgeons expertise in the field of dentistry to Alexandria University, to help develop this field, and enhance the opportunities for graduates of this specialty to obtain various job opportunities locally, regionally, and internationally.
During the meeting, a presentation was given about Alexandria University and the steps it has taken towards internationalizing education and cooperation with international universities, international agreements and partnerships, joint and dual degrees with international universities, international branches in Chad and South Sudan, expansion to establish international branches on the university’s land in Borg El Arab, and the new complex of the Faculty of Dentistry.
Faculty of Pharmacy's Project Wins Third Place in National Initiative for Green Smart Projects
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated the Faculty of Pharmacy for its "Green Cycle" project winning third place at the level of Alexandria Governorate in the National Initiative for Green Smart Projects in its third edition (2024) in the category of non-profit community initiatives and participations.
It is worth noting that the project won for the second year in a row in this initiative, as it achieved first place at the level of Alexandria Governorate last year.
For his part, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled Saeed, Governor of Alexandria, honoured the winning projects, and handed over certificates of appreciation to Dr. Sherif Rostom, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Amr El-Hawit, Professor of Drugs and Member of the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Committee at the Faculty, in the presence of Major General Khaled Shoeib, Governor of Matrouh, Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira, and the faculty members.
President of Alexandria University Inspects Regularity of Classes on First Day of New Academic Year, Directs Support for Financially Struggling Students
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, inspected today, Saturday, 28 September 2024, the progress of lectures in the university's faculties and institutes on the first day of the new academic year. He was accompanied during the tour by Dr. Saeed Allam, Acting Vice President for Environmental Development and Community Service Affairs, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, as well as deans, vice deans and secretaries of various faculties.
The tour included inspecting the faculties of the Medical Complex, followed by the Humanities Complex. The university president reassured the readiness of lecture halls, laboratories and laboratories and following the procedures organized for entering the university campus. Dr. Konsowa said that Alexandria University has harnessed all its capabilities of infrastructure, buildings and services to receive new and old students, and listened to the explanations of the deans of the faculties about the mechanisms and procedures of each faculty regarding the preparations made to receive students at the beginning of the new academic year, where he directed the deans to organize many programs for new students in order to familiarize them with the faculties, their departments and the services provided by the university and how to benefit from them, in order to provide a safe educational environment for students during their educational journey. Dr. Konsowa also directed the deans of faculties and institutes of Alexandria University to support financially struggling students according to the Social Solidarity Fund programs, and in accordance with the requirements, controls and rules approved by the Supreme Council of Governmental Universities.
The university president held an open dialogue with the students, where he congratulated them on the occasion of the start of the new academic year, wishing them success, excellence and creativity, urging them to benefit from the dual degrees signed by the university with major international universities to be competitive with international specifications.
Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa was also keen to inspect the annual bazaar of Alexandria University, which includes a group of clothes, leather products, school supplies and office tools to serve students and university staff. At the end of the tour, the university president praised the regularity of classes on its first days and the presence of university leaders and faculty members among their students to follow up on the progress of the educational process and organize the ideal atmosphere to receive fresh students with the participation of their old colleagues.
