The Faculty of Physical Education receives the heroes of the Eilat operation
The Faculty of Physical Education in Abu Qir organized a symposium entitled "The Heroes of Operation Eilat ", in which the hero Captain Omar Ali Ezzedine and the hero Captain Mahmoud Ahmed Saad, one of the heroes of the two operations Eilat and the Excavator, participated. Dr. Mohamed Bilal, Dean of the College, stressed at the beginning of the symposium that the College is pleased to receive the heroes of the glorious October victory, and to introduce the current generations of students to the great role that these heroes played for the sake of the country. He also stressed the importance of the role of the Egyptian Navy in Egypt’s military history, pointing out She was and will remain one of the strongest shields of the nation inside and outside the armed forces. During the symposium, the heroes recounted part of their story during the completion of the operations and previous exercises, and they reported that the operations of Eilat and the digger were a fatal blow to Israel. The symposium was attended by Dr. Mohab Abdel Razzaq, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Islam Amin, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, faculty members, and faculty students.
President of Alexandria University Inaugurates Faculty of Dentistry’s 22nd International Conference
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, inaugurated Tuesday evening the twenty-second international conference of the Faculty of Dentistry, and witnessed the signing of a letter of intent for cooperation between Alexandria University and the British University of Manchester to establish a joint bachelor's degree in dental medicine and oral surgery.
The opening session of the conference was attended by Dr. Zahi Hawass, the famous archaeologist and former Minister of Antiquities, Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Deputy Governor of Alexandria, Nihal Balbaa, Deputy Governor of Beheira, Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, in addition the presidents of the Universities of El Alamein, Pharos, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, the former governor of Sharkia, the Head of Dentists’ Syndicate, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Alexandria, as well as a group of faculty members and representatives of major medical companies.
At the beginning of his speech, Dr. Konsowa conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to all participants in the conference, and confirmed that Alexandria University is proud to organize this conference, which is full of tremendous scientific content in the field of dentistry, where many dental affiliates around the world are keen to participate. He also emphasized the university's support for scientific conferences, as part of its vision, which includes creating an atmosphere for exchanging scientific development in all fields of knowledge and disseminating it among its members. He pointed out that Alexandria University is committed to the charter of freedom of thought and unlimited knowledge exchange and is open to historic and distinguished international universities through cooperation protocols in academic and research fields and through joint programs and degrees.
In her speech, Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Deputy Governor of Alexandria, thanked Alexandria University for organizing this conference and appreciated its scientific status and the participation of many dental professors from different countries of the world to exchange experiences, visions and research, which confirms that Egypt occupies a distinguished scientific rank.
Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel-Hakim, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, said that it is celebrating the 46th anniversary of the first international scientific conference of dentistry in the Middle East, where the golden generation of dentistry professors set a road map to put the Faculty in its proper position. He stressed that the Faculty is keen to continue organizing this international conference with the participation of leading scientists and technology innovators in the field of dentistry to exchange experiences, research and training, which results in the advantage of attracting major companies of medical devices, equipment and tools to sponsor the conference. He also thanked everyone who took part in organizing the conference to help it come out in this brilliant way.
Dr. Mohamed Moataz Khamis, Secretary General of the Conference, confirmed that it includes more than 150 participants, professors and researchers from 20 countries, and enjoys cooperation with prominent scientific entities inside and outside Egypt, such as the Egyptian Society of Orthodontics, the Egyptian Society of Paediatric Dentistry and the International Society for Dental Research, as well as the faculties of dentistry at the Arab Academy and Pharos University. He also said that the conference is accompanied by a selection of lectures and workshops to present all that is new in the field of dentistry, and an exhibition of the latest equipment and supplies from major medical companies.
Dr. Zahi Hawass presented a documentary about recent discoveries in the Pyramids and the Valley of the Kings. He reviewed the new discoveries related to King Tutankhamun and the history of the king’s dynasty on the Western Bank of the Nile, and the relationship of the different dynasties of Pharaonic Egypt to the stage of 2500 BC.
Alexandria University President Appoints Vice-Deans at Faculties of Arts and Pharmacy
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, issued the following decisions:
• Appointment of Dr. Naglaa Hassan Abdelhamid Abou-Agag, Professor and Head of the Department of English Language & Literature, Faculty of Arts, as Vice-Dean for Graduate Studies and Research for a period of three years.
• Renewing the appointment of Dr. Hanan Mohamed Samir Morsi El-Goweily, Professor at the Department of Medicines and Toxicology, Faculty of Pharmacy, as Vice-Dean for Education and Student Affairs for a period of three years.
"Agriculture" organizes celebrates the students of AU branch in Chad
Under auspices of Dr. Essam El-Kurdi the President of Alexandria University and Dr. Hisham Gaber the university Deputy for Education and Students Affairs, the Faculty of Agriculture in El Shatby will organize a celebration for the students in the faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in AU branch of Chad. The new students are receiving final training on the technology of agriculture and veterinary fields through three weeks.
Dr. Mosaad Zain El Din the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture stated that a lunch was organized for the students and faculty
administration in the second day of Eid Al Adha. The faculty also prepared a sport and entertainment program for the students where they will participate in a sport day, cultural trip to Alexandria historical sites and football league on Thursday in the playground of the Faculty of Medicine.
Alexandria University President Inaugurates Engineering Forum for Business and Jobs at Faculty of Engineering
On Saturday the 20th of May 2023, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, inaugurated the Engineering Forum for Business and Jobs for the year 2023 in its twenty-first session, which is organized by the Faculty of Engineering with the participation of the University Centre for Professional Development in the faculty. The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Deputy Governor of Alexandria, Dr. Saeed Allam, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mr. Ahmed El-Wakil, President of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Hisham Seoudi, President of the Engineers Syndicate in Alexandria, Dr. Walid Abdelazim, Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, Dr. Essam Wahba, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Wael El-Maghlani, Acting Vice-Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Dina El-Gayar, Executive Director of the Project Management Unit at the University, Dr. Dina Saadallah, Director of the University Development Centre UCCD, and a group of experts, industrialists, and faculty members.
The forum aims to provide employment and training opportunities for engineering students and graduates in various engineering disciplines. Many major engineering companies are participating in the forum, which are looking for new talents to strengthen their working force. During the forum, companies will hold a number of seminars and various workshops with the aim of increasing students' awareness of the skills required in the labor market and enabling them to face the challenges of the labour market.
In his speech, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa stressed that Alexandria University spares no effort in achieving the competitiveness of its students at all levels, by establishing joint degrees in cooperation with major international universities, as one of the most important strategic goals of the university. Dr. Konsowa indicated that Alexandria University would not separate from the national plan Egypt 2030, that aims to support the knowledge-based economy and link scientific research to industry in its comprehensive concept, in order to improve the competitiveness of education systems and outputs, and to support the market economy to achieve comprehensive and sustainable growth characterized by competitiveness and diversity. He also stressed that the Engineering Forum for Business and Jobs at the Faculty of Engineering is an important opportunity for its students to learn about the needs of the labour market and better guide their career paths, as well as providing opportunities for companies and agencies to learn about the quality of skills and capabilities that the university is developing among students and graduates, according to the latest international systems and in line with international quality standards.
While Dr. Jacqueline Azer indicated the need for joint cooperation between Alexandria Governorate and Alexandria University to train students in the national projects that are being built within the lands of Alexandria governorate, as they are the builders of the future, and also to introduce students to the actual achievements that are being achieved on the ground.
Dr. Saeed Allam explained that the forum comes from the belief of the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, in the effective role of young graduates in achieving development, and in line with the state's policies of the need to pay attention to graduates and overcome the difficulties they face in employment, giving them the opportunity to participate in building the country and community service, in light of the sustainable development plan Egypt 2030. Dr. Allam indicated that the Faculty of Engineering since its establishment has been working to improve the level of engineering education by graduating qualified and skilled engineers. It has also created communication with different sectors and companies to work together to provide research and scientific solutions to face any problems, and to facilitate graduates’ access to job opportunities in the public and private sectors. Through Project incubators, the faculty encourages its graduates to be creative, innovate and establish companies in the various fields of engineering. Dr. Allam pointed to the importance of the forum for students to learn about the available job opportunities in all engineering sectors and disciplines required in the labour market.
Dr. Walid Abdelazim confirmed that the forum this year comes within the framework of Alexandria University's encouragement of employment and training initiatives for its students and graduates, in line with the university's plan in its constant endeavour to satisfy the educational, professional and research needs of the community. He indicated that the forum is one of the bridges of cooperation between the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University and national industry in its comprehensive concept, in a way that achieves compatibility between education and employment by identifying the challenges and requirements of the industry, and also reflects linking the outputs of the educational process to the needs of the productive and service sectors in society. He pointed out the presence of major companies and institutions within the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, stressing that the forum is an exceptional opportunity for all students and graduates of the faculty to be present among a large number of companies, that have an important and vital role in the Egyptian market.
Dr. Hisham Seoudi stressed that the Faculty of Engineering has always been proactive in linking its educational programs to the requirements of the labour market, expressing his hope that this forum will be a good opportunity to adopt creative projects for students and graduates of the Faculty.
