Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research, received today, Monday February 5, 2024, Ambassador Herro Mustafa Garg, the Ambassador of the United States of America in Cairo, and her accompanying delegation, in order to enhance scientific cooperation between the two sides. The meeting was attended by Dr. El-Sayed El-Seifi, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Dr. Gihan Gewaifel, Assistant President of the University for Foreign University Branches, Dr. Dina Saad, Director of the University Centres for Professional Development, Dr. Aisha Hamdi, Director of the Faculty of Business Centre, and Regional Representative of the Project, and Dr. Ayten El-Roubi, Director of the University Centre for Professional Development at the Faculty of Education.

In her speech, the Ambassador expressed her pleasure for being at Alexandria University, stressing her endeavour to build many partnerships and successes with Egyptian universities during the coming period. The Ambassador also visited the University Centre for Professional Development at the Faculty of Business, Alexandria University, and listened to the success stories achieved by graduate students through the Centre. She also confirmed that the visit comes within the framework of the American Embassy in Cairo’s keenness to communicate with students at university centres for professional development, as well as to listen to their suggestions in developing the courses and activities that the centre offers, so that the embassy can provide the necessary support to them in cooperation with the administration of Alexandria University.

The Ambassador announced the establishment of A fourth centre for professional development in the medical campus of Alexandria University to serve the educational process there. She indicated that there is a proposal to establish centres for psychological support and mental health for students, pointing out that the embassy is fully prepared to provide financial support to establish centres for psychological support and mental health for students at Alexandria University.
 
 
 
While Dr. Hisham Saeed welcomed the American Ambassador and her accompanying delegation, and reviewed issues related to enhancing cooperation between the university and the American Embassy, within the framework of Alexandria University’s strategy and its future vision of moving towards internationalism. Dr. Saeed expressed his pleasure that there are three university centres for professional development at Alexandria University in the Faculties of Business, Engineering, and Education, appreciating the role of the embassy in establishing a fourth centre in the medical campus to serve the educational and health process at the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. He pointed out that these centres have contributed over the five years since their establishment in 2017 in developing the skills of more than six thousand male and female students, in addition to providing them with job opportunities and qualifying them for the local, international and regional labour market through advanced training courses that keep pace with the labour markets and organizing employment forums in various faculties.
