Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received Ambassador Richard Mutayoba Makanzo, Ambassador of Tanzania in Cairo, and his accompanying delegation, to discuss ways of cooperation between Alexandria University and Tanzanian universities in areas of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Ibrahim Rehab, Advisor to the University President for African Affairs.
In his speech, Dr. Konsowa stressed the keenness of Alexandria University to consolidate ways of cooperation with Tanzanian universities in various scientific fields, and to provide all means of care and distinguished educational and research services for Tanzanian students studying at Alexandria University, explaining that Alexandria University is working hard to develop and advance the skills of African students in general so that they can participate in the renaissance of their countries. He added that Alexandria University is looking forward to further cooperation with Tanzanian universities in the fields of water, renewable energy and electricity, and to continue sending medical convoys to consolidate the historical relations linking the two countries.
For his part, the Tanzanian ambassador praised the distinguished scientific and academic level of Alexandria University, stressing the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and Tanzania. He pointed out that there are currently 47 Tanzanian students enrolled at Alexandria University. He also stressed the keenness of the Republic of Tanzania to develop joint cooperation with Egyptian academic bodies in general and Alexandria University in particular, especially in the areas of educational programs and joint research projects in various academic disciplines.
