Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs, during the Education and Student Affairs Council held this morning, Monday the 18th of December 2023, praised the efforts of the deans and vice-deans of faculties in organizing seminars, events, and student activities to urge students and all university employees to participate effectively in the Egyptian presidential elections 2024. He expressed his happiness with this unprecedented and broad participation, which gives clear evidence of the university’s youth’s awareness of the importance of contributing to this constitutional entitlement, their belief in loyalty and belonging to their dear homeland, and their ability to build the new republic. He announced that the university has provided all aspects of logistical support to provide an appropriate climate for Students and university employees to cast their votes easily and conveniently during the electoral process.

Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen thanked the faculty deans for the effort made in preparing for the first semester final exams, which start at the beginning of January, stressing that all necessary preparations have been made for the final exams in the university’s various practical and theoretical faculties, stressing the necessity of the presence of deans, vice- deans, faculty members, and administrative staff in the examination committees’ headquarters, in order to answer students’ inquiries and create a suitable climate for them to take the exams with ease. He pointed out the importance of conducting exams in accordance with the controls and standards set for them, with the presence of medical teams inside the committees’ headquarters to provide necessary assistance for any medical emergency.

The Council discussed the presentation submitted by Dr. Sherif Keshk, Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Smart Governance, which included a report on following up on the implementation of the digital transformation plan, to develop higher education institutions and Egyptian universities, which was presented at the session of the Supreme Council of Universities held last November.

 Dr. Sameh Nakhla, Director of the University’s Measurement and Evaluation Center, gave a presentation on the digital transformation initiative, which represents the focus of the Egyptian state’s interest in all government institutions in general, university education and university hospitals in particular, explaining the role of Alexandria University in activating this initiative, which includes a plan to develop universities and educational campuses, smart electronic tests, electronic platforms and portals, content, systems and applications, infrastructure. This aims to provide a distinctive learning experience for students, while expanding the circle of learning availability through information technology tools, thus qualifying students for the labour market by empowering them with information technology tools, supporting scientific research and innovation, transforming higher education institutions into smart institutions that operate efficiently, safely and environmentally friendly, smart governance within the framework of the principles of leadership and creativity, international reference, sustainability, effective participation, communication, interdisciplinarity and integration.
 
 
 
 
 Dr. Sameh Nakhla also gave another presentation on the mechanisms for following up on the policy and procedures of written and theoretical tests and grading exams at Alexandria University.
