The Faculty has gone through several stages of evolution, since its establishment, the study in the undergraduate was passing on one division, then replace this system with another, in which the study was divided into two divisions. If the student spent this period of study successfully, has the right to choose when joining to the third year between the two divisions: the Division of Trade, Department of Economics. And taken into account in the distribution of study materials between the two divisions that all studies in the commercial materials are paramount, in addition to the accounting and business management and providing student with premium sufficient economic studies, and in the Department of Economics, the economic studies are predominant, without neglecting purely commercial studies. This system has been applied in the Faculty from the academic year 1947/1948 after the approval of the University Council in its session on 18/23 November, 1948. |

The Faculty of Agriculture was established in 1942 and had its beginning with eight academic departments. Over the years, these academic specialization departments were promoted to cover twenty major agricultural fields, besides the General Plant Production. In addition to the central laboratories and research facilities organized within the faculty of Agriculture, there is an Agricultural Experimental Station ( 550 feddans) located 11 km east from the faculty campus (Abbes).The Experimental Station serves undergraduate students for practical training and graduate students to conduct their researches. In 1986, additional Experimental Station ( El-Hamam Farm 250 feddans) was established at the northern Mediterranean cost ( about 90 km West to Alexandria). El-Hamam Experimental Station represents agricultural production under stressed conditions |

The Faculty harbors a well-equipped health care center with up-to-date operating theaters for oral as well as maxillo-facial surgeries. The Faculty is providing free dental treatment for the patients that serve for supervised training for its students. It is an opportunity to serve the society, especially, the under-privileged who cannot afford the high cost for quality dental treatment. The Faculty plays an important role in increasing the awareness among people who live in areas lacking the appropriate care especially among limited income families with developmental disabilities. |

The University of Alexandria Center for Graduate Studies and Research in 1972 in conjunction with the UNESCO and UNDP, the United Nations aimed at strengthening the Graduate School of the country and encourage researchers from different disciplines and backgrounds to interact and fusion with each other to develop their research and ideas which reflect the scientific progress. It was felt as a result of extensive studies - the need to develop areas for interdisciplinary graduate studies - according to scientific standards accepted internationally in the field of higher studies and research. |

The faculty was founded in 1974. Study started in the academic year 1975/1976 at one of the royal palaces in Edfina, Behera province with a capacity of 50 students. The faculty provides veterinary medical services for the purpose of fostering the animal resources and increasing the awareness among the members of the community. Several centers are affiliated with, the faculty, provide poultry and animal treatment services to individuals, and institutes. |

The need for a specialized institution for medical research to address health problems of national concern was recognized in the early 1950's. Plans were subsequently drawn and a presidential decree was issued in 1957 for the establishment of the Medical Institute to be located in Alexandria. This institute was later attached to the National Research Center and the Ministry of Scientific Research. Since its establishment it has been housed in the same building it occupies today at 165, Horreya Avenue, Hadara, Alexandria .The laboratories of the institute were prepared and work in July 1963 as Medical Research Institute. |

Based on the approval of the University Council at its meeting held on 31/3/2019 on the establishment of the Faculty of Computing and Data Sciences, and the approval of the Supreme Council of Universities at its meeting held on 23/4/2019 on the establishment of the Faculty of Computing and Data Sciences at Alexandria University, and on the Prime Minister's decision No. 1814 of the year 2019 added the Faculty of Computing and Data Science to faculties of Alexandria University and the approval of the Supreme Council of Universities in its session held on 24/8/2019 to start the study at the faculty. |
