Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, emphasized to the deans of faculties and institutes, during the University Council meeting held today, Tuesday, April 29, 2025, the necessity of completing all necessary preparations for the second semester final exams, scheduled for the end of next May. He emphasized the need for faculty members, supporting staff, and the administrative staff to remain on duty throughout the exam period and to take all necessary measures and procedures to provide a safe exam environment.

The University President reviewed the results of his participation in the 57th General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities, which was held recently in Kuwait. The conference was attended by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, and a select group of representatives from the higher education and scientific research sectors in Egypt and the Arab world. The conference included ways to enhance cooperation and mutual integration in scientific and academic fields between the two sides. He highlighted the possibility of enhancing academic and cultural cooperation between Alexandria University and Arab universities in studying at Alexandria University for double degrees and in areas of mutual interest, and exploring mechanisms to leverage the available resources of both parties to consolidate this cooperation.
As part of the University's commitment to the academic future of American scholarship students at Alexandria University enrolled in scholarships provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Dr. Konsowa affirmed the University's commitment to continuing to support them and providing them with scholarships from Alexandria University to complete their studies.
• The Council approved the accreditation of the Professional Diploma Program (Sports Pharmacy Practice) at the Faculty of Pharmacy. The Council also approved the accreditation of the Professional Master's Program in Radiopharmacy, a joint degree between the Faculty of Pharmacy (Department of Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry) and the Medical Research Institute (Department of Radiology).
• The Council approved the Memorandum of Understanding between Alexandria University and Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University, France, for the Student Exchange Annex, and the bilateral partnership agreement with the same university within the framework of the International Francophone Mediterranean Universities Alliance (AIME) project.
• The Council also renewed the cooperation agreement between Alexandria University and the University of Cyprus. It also approved two cooperation agreements between Alexandria University and the University of Granada in Spain, one for student exchange and the other for joint scientific, academic, and research cooperation. It also approved the proposed agreement between Alexandria University and the University of Paris, France.
• The Council also approved the cooperation protocol between Alexandria University (Faculty of Business) and Bournemouth University, UK, and McMaster University - DeGroote School of Business, Ontario, Canada. The Council also approved the Memorandum of Understanding between Alexandria University (Faculty of Pharmacy) and the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Council also approved the Memorandum of Understanding between Alexandria University (Higher Institute of Public Health) and the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Supervision. The Council also renewed the Memorandum of Understanding between Alexandria University (Faculty of Engineering) and the Russian National Research Nuclear University, and the Memorandum of Understanding between Alexandria University and Al-Balqa' Applied University.
• The Council accepted the donation of medical supplies valued at EGP 2.5 million from Pharos University to the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at El-Miri University Hospital, and an endoscope valued at EGP 4.2 million for the Colon and Rectal Surgery Unit in the Department of Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine. It also accepted he donation of medical supplies from One Surgical Company for Medical Supplies, valued at EGP 4.3 million, to the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases at Smouha University Hospital. The donation of an ultrasound machine valued at EGP 1.4 million from the Generation of Hope Association for Social Development to the Operations Department of the Medical Research Institute was also approved.
• The Council approved the promotion of 16 faculty members, seven to the positions of professor and nine to the positions of associate professor, the appointment of 19 lecturers, and the awarding of 133 doctoral degrees and 162 master's degrees in various scientific disciplines.
