
Alexandria University held a meeting chaired by Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of the University, with the deans and vice deans of health-sector faculties and institutes, to discuss key issues related to the future of healthcare policies in Egypt and develop recommendations for the upcoming National Health Policy Dialogue.
The meeting addressed major priorities including disease prevention and early detection, healthcare quality and patient safety, workforce development, digital transformation, health data management, access and health equity, pharmaceutical and medical technology, sustainable healthcare financing, comprehensive health insurance, and preparedness for health emergencies.
Dr. Abdel Hakim emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting national efforts to develop the healthcare system and strengthening cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Population, highlighting the role of university hospitals, specialized medical centers, medical convoys, presidential healthcare initiatives, and the training of qualified healthcare professionals.
Participants also stressed the importance of integrating education, research, training, community service, health awareness, and preventive programs to improve healthcare quality and citizens’ quality of life.
