Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, conducted a tour of several faculties and institutes on Saturday, September 19, 2026, coinciding with the start of the 2026/2027 academic year, to monitor the regularity of classes and ensure the universities’ readiness to welcome students.

The tour included the Medical Complex, Humanities Complex, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, and Alexandria National University. He inspected classrooms, laboratories, outpatient clinics, and student services, and reviewed the arrangements for the smooth start of the academic year.

During an open dialogue with students, Dr. Abdel Hakim emphasized the university’s ambitious plan to advance its academic and research standing and reach the Tier 1 category, strengthening its international presence and competitiveness.

He also encouraged students to actively participate in cultural, sports, and scouting activities, highlighting the university’s recent achievement at the Cairo 2026 African University Games, where Alexandria University students won 50 medals, including 20 gold medals. He announced that the winning students will be honored at the upcoming University Council meeting.

The Acting President directed university leaders and faculty members to maintain close follow-up of the educational process, communicate continuously with students, and address any challenges they may face.
