A delegation from Alexandria University’s Faculty of Arts met with Dr. Waleed El-Barqy, Governor of the Red Sea, to discuss utilizing students’ graduation projects in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics, and Surveying to support the governorate’s development plans.

The meeting focused on developing geospatial databases, surveying urban areas, and preparing strategic and detailed plans, as well as using GIS applications to support local authorities and improve decision-making.

Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, emphasized the university’s commitment to transforming academic knowledge into practical solutions that serve society and align educational and research outputs with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
