
Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, honored Prof. Hany Abdel Moneim Ghayouba, Director of the Disability Support Center at the Faculty of Business, in recognition of his achievement in earning a Professional Master’s Degree in Information Security, Artificial Intelligence and Smart Computing from the Faculty of Science, Alexandria University, with an Excellent grade, becoming the first blind Egyptian to earn this degree.
This outstanding achievement highlights the ability of persons with disabilities to excel academically and scientifically in advanced technological fields, turning challenges into opportunities for innovation and creativity. As part of his master’s work, Prof. Hany Abdel Moneim Ghayouba designed a communication program that facilitates interaction between deaf and blind individuals in the commercial sector, using artificial intelligence technologies and mechanisms. The program aims to facilitate communication and enhance opportunities for inclusion and participation in the workplace and business environment.
Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim extended his sincere congratulations to Prof. Hany Abdel Moneim Ghayouba, emphasizing that this achievement represents an inspiring example of determination, perseverance, and academic excellence. He noted that it demonstrates the ability of Alexandria University’s students and graduates with disabilities to attain the highest academic degrees and contribute innovative technological solutions that serve society.
The University President affirmed that Alexandria University places great emphasis on persons with disabilities and continuously works to provide an inclusive educational environment that ensures equal opportunities and enables their full integration into university life. He highlighted the role of Taha Hussein Center for Students with Disabilities as one of the university’s key entities supporting students academically, alongside the university’s efforts in vocational rehabilitation, sports, and artistic activities, which contribute to discovering their talents and developing their capabilities.
He further noted that empowering persons with disabilities and enhancing their participation across various fields are fundamental pillars of comprehensive and sustainable development. He expressed Alexandria University’s pride in its students and graduates who provide inspiring examples of excellence, determination, and success, demonstrating that knowledge and determination can transform challenges into achievements that enrich the university’s journey.
