Alexandria University concluded the internal hackathon of the Green Loop Competition 2026, launched under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdel Aziz Konswa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the Innovators and Talents Welfare Fund and the Leadership Development Institute, to support student innovation and sustainable waste management solutions.

Dr. Affaf Al-Oufy, Vice President of Alexandria University for Community Service and Environmental Development, noted that 33 undergraduate and postgraduate projects participated in the competition. Following training and mentoring, 12 teams qualified for the internal hackathon held on September 3, 2026.

The competition resulted in three winning projects advancing to the next stages to represent Alexandria University at the national level, with the university continuing to provide technical and practical support to all participating teams to further develop their ideas.
