Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, received on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the torch of the 14th Youth Week for Universities and Higher Institutes, scheduled to be hosted by Minia University from September 25–30, 2026.

The torch reception was followed by a student march from the university’s main administration building in Shatby to Qaitbay Citadel, including a visit to the new Alexandria Metro project, amid an enthusiastic student atmosphere.

Dr. Abdel Hakim welcomed Egypt’s university youth, emphasizing that the torch symbolizes hope, ambition, and the vital role of young people in building the nation’s future. He also highlighted the importance of the event in discovering talents, exchanging experiences, promoting teamwork, and strengthening friendship and cooperation among students from Egyptian universities.

He called on students to participate with a spirit of fair competition, creativity, and sportsmanship, expressing his appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Minister of Higher Education Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, and Minia University President Dr. Essam Farhat for their continued support of youth and university activities.
