
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, received a delegation from the Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Cairo, headed by Dr. Hadi Al-Sabban, Cultural Counselor at the Embassy. The visit followed a tour by the delegation to the Faculty of Medicine, where they met with a number of Yemeni students studying at the University.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Dr. Affaf Al-Oufy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Hala Mokalled, Executive Director of the International Students Administration.
The Yemeni delegation also included Mr. Hashem Sultan Al-Makhlafi, Assistant Cultural Counselor for Financial Affairs, and Dr. Abdulrahman Zaid Al-Hubaishi, Academic Officer at the Cultural Attaché.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim affirmed Alexandria University’s commitment to providing comprehensive support and care for Yemeni students across all faculties, by offering a distinguished educational environment based on the latest academic systems and programs aligned with labor market demands. He also highlighted opportunities for participation in cultural and sports activities, the provision of necessary services and facilities, and ongoing efforts to overcome any challenges they may face, within an integrated system for supporting international students.
He further reviewed the University’s existing cooperation with numerous international universities and institutions through joint programs and degrees, as well as academic and student exchange initiatives, which enhance Alexandria University’s regional and global standing.
For their part, members of the Yemeni delegation expressed their sincere appreciation to Alexandria University and its leadership, praising the level of care provided to Yemeni students and affirming their aspiration to further strengthen cooperation with this prestigious academic institution.
