As part of Alexandria University’s commitment to supporting student activities, Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of the University, inaugurated the 45th Scout Festival and the 17th Guiding Course for the university’s male and female scouts, held at the Faculty of Engineering.

The event was attended by Dr. Wael El-Maghlani, Acting Dean of the Faculty, Mr. Shehab Mahrous, General Director of Youth Welfare, Mr. Sameh Hammouda, Director of the Scouts Department, in addition to a number of academic and administrative leaders and students.

The opening activities began with a distinguished parade featuring scout teams from various faculties of the university, followed by the flag salute in a scene that reflected the spirit of discipline and belonging.

During the event, Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim welcomed the attendees, expressing his pleasure at the participation of the university’s scouts in these activities. He affirmed the university’s keenness to support activities that contribute to building well-rounded student personalities and developing their leadership and volunteer skills. He also recommended that scout members continue to develop their capabilities and enhance their positive participation in community service.

He praised the efforts of the Youth Welfare Administration in organizing these activities, as well as the educational role played by the scouting movement as a way of life that contributes to instilling positive values and fostering the spirit of cooperation, teamwork, and discipline.

Dr. Abdel Hakim also emphasized the importance of organizing such activities on a regular basis, as they provide opportunities to discover students’ talents, showcase their artistic creations and handicrafts, and work on marketing them in a distinguished manner, thereby supporting a culture of innovation and productivity among youth.
