
As part of Alexandria University’s preparations for the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr, Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of the University and Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, conducted an inspection tour of the Students’ Hospital to ensure its readiness and the quality of medical services provided to patients and visitors. The tour was attended by Dr. Ahmed Fouda, Hospital Director, and Dr. Mohamed Metwally, Deputy Director.
During the visit, Dr. Abdel Hakim extended his congratulations to the medical staff, nursing teams, employees, as well as patients and visitors on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, wishing them continued health and well-being. He also praised the sincere efforts of the medical teams in delivering healthcare services around the clock.
Dr. Abdel Hakim emphasized the university’s commitment to providing full support to its university hospitals to ensure their complete readiness during the holiday period. He noted the availability of medical and nursing staff, as well as medicines and serums, ensuring the provision of high-quality healthcare services 24/7. He also highlighted the significant progress witnessed in the development and modernization of university hospitals, enhancing the efficiency of the healthcare and educational systems in line with advanced medical service requirements.
He further pointed out that Alexandria University places great importance on developing the infrastructure of the medical sector and upgrading healthcare facilities, in addition to supporting the educational and research environment, thereby strengthening the vital role of university hospitals in serving the community of Alexandria and neighboring governorates.
In the same context, he referred to the implementation of a comprehensive plan to raise the level of preparedness across all university hospitals, which includes declaring a state of emergency in various departments and increasing the presence of medical and nursing teams to ensure rapid response to medical and emergency cases during the Eid period.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Fouda stated that the preparedness plan includes raising the maximum level of alert in emergency and reception departments, operating rooms, and intensive care units, while ensuring the availability of sufficient quantities of medicines and medical supplies to provide efficient healthcare services.
The tour included inspection of outpatient clinics, patient rooms, intensive care units, laboratories, radiology and emergency departments, as well as following up on the development works of the Nephrology Unit and ensuring the readiness of medical equipment and infrastructure.
