As part of Alexandria University’s commitment to supporting student activities and enhancing the integration of international students into campus life, Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, attended yesterday evening the closing ceremony of the Ramadan Five-a-Side Football Tournament for international students. The tournament was organized by the International Students Activities Unit at the General Administration of Youth Welfare and was held at the University Stadium, with the participation of 16 teams representing different international student communities studying at the university. The event was marked by a highly competitive atmosphere and strong sportsmanship.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Hala Moqled, Executive Director of the International Students Office at the university; Mr. Shehab Mahrous, Director General of Youth Welfare; and Mr. Sherif Abdel Razek, International Students Activities Coordinator, along with a number of supervisors of sports and social activities and sports specialists at the university.

During his speech, Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim emphasized that Alexandria University is keen to provide an integrated educational, cultural, and sports environment for international students, offering them various forms of support and care that contribute to their integration into diverse student activities.

He added that such sporting events represent an important opportunity to enhance cultural exchange among students from different nationalities, while promoting values of fair competition and teamwork. They also provide a platform for discovering talents and developing students’ abilities, reflecting the university’s civilizational role and its status as a distinguished educational destination for students from around the world.

He further noted that organizing this tournament comes as part of a series of sports and cultural activities that the university is keen to provide for international students, contributing to strengthening their integration into university life and enriching their educational experience.

At the end of the event, Dr. Abdel Hakim presented awards to the winning teams, congratulating the students on their outstanding performance and the remarkable sportsmanship they demonstrated throughout the competition.
