As part of Alexandria University’s commitment to supporting cultural and artistic activities that enhance students’ awareness, refine their talents, and strengthen their connection to Arab and Islamic identity, and under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of the University, and in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Bahaa El-Din Mohamed, General Coordinator of Student Activities, along with the deans and vice deans of the university’s faculties, the Alexandria University Forum for Poetry and Arts organized the eighteenth evening of the Arabic Language Nights series.

The event, titled “Moons Revolved in the Orbit of the Beloved,” was held at Sayed Darwish Theatre (Alexandria Opera House) as part of the Opera’s Ramadan 2026 program.

The performance featured eight theatrical tableaux portraying humanitarian moments from the Prophet’s biography and the lives of his companions, presented through a dramatic vision that blended acting with religious chanting. The evening also included a selection of spiritual songs such as “Al-Rida wal-Nour” (Contentment and Light) and “Muhammad Ya Rasul Allah,” creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere that reflected the essence of the holy month and added a distinctive emotional character to the event.

The University Choir performed under the direction of Dr. Sherihan El-Hadidi. The scientific material was prepared by Dr. Nagwa Saber, while the scriptwriting and dramatic adaptation were undertaken by Dr. Mohamed Mokhaimer. The performance was directed by Mohamed Bahgat, under the supervision of Shehab Mahrous, Director General of the General Administration of Youth Welfare at the University.

This year’s Ramadan Opera program represents an artistic journey that blends Egyptian sentiment with cultural openness to the Arab and Islamic worlds through spiritual evenings, international concerts, chanting performances, and contemporary musical trends, reaffirming Egyptian Opera House as a beacon of art and beauty throughout the blessed month.
