As part of Alexandria University’s commitment to enhancing its societal role and serving the most in-need villages, and under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, the first comprehensive medical convoy of the 2025/2026 academic year was launched last Friday. Organized by the Faculty of Medicine, the convoy headed to Abis 7 Village to serve the local residents, continuing the University’s mission to actively engage in community service.

Dr. Tamer Abdallah, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Coordinator of the University’s Convoy Committee, confirmed that the convoy provided outstanding medical services across various specialties, with a total of 650 beneficiaries, distributed as follows: Internal Medicine (96), Pediatrics (97), Ophthalmology (60), Dentistry (90), ENT (59), Orthopedics (115), Dermatology (101), and Chest Diseases (33). He added that the convoy included an integrated team from the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Nursing, in addition to providing medications. The University’s Anti-Violence Against Women Unit also participated, delivering awareness and educational programs for women and children. These covered topics such as proper nutrition and the dangers of malnutrition, social awareness on self-protection and dealing with strangers, traffic safety, the risks of smartphone and video game addiction, as well as healthy practices for handling domestic animals.

In a humanitarian gesture, Rotary Club volunteers distributed gifts to children to encourage their positive engagement with the convoy’s activities.
