The Alexandria University Education and Student Affairs Council, during its meeting chaired by Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs, reviewed the timeline for the 2025/2026 academic year, as announced by the Supreme Council of Universities. Studies begin on September 20, 2025, and continue until January 1, 2026. The mid-year break begins on January 24, 2026, and lasts for two weeks. The second semester begins on February 7, 2026, and continues until May 21, 2026. Second semester final exams begin in May and June 2026, depending on the nature of study and exams in each faculty.
- Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen thanked the faculty deans and the Centre for Measurement and Evaluation, headed by Dr. Sameh Nakhla, for their efforts during the past academic year and the smooth running of exams across all university faculties and institute s. He emphasized the importance of announcing exam results on time, in accordance with the rules and regulations established by the Supreme Council of Universities.
* The council discussed a proposed mechanism for implementing the internal aptitude test for students nominated for admission to the Faculty of Specific Education, in light of the approval of the Faculty's Education and Student Affairs Committee and the Faculty Council.
* Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen congratulated all Alexandria University affiliates on the approaching New Hijri Year, praying to God Almighty to bring it back to Egypt with goodness, blessings, and prosperity.
* During the council meeting, Professor Ghada El-Khayat, Executive Director of the Centre for Educational Innovation and Distance Learning, gave a presentation on the centre's activities and services, inviting faculties and units to participate. She also presented the centre's various specialized sectors, represented by educational platforms, electronic content, training, and innovative initiatives. She emphasized the importance of adhering to the standards approved by the University Council for producing e-books and supporting faculty members in working on the platforms and following up on them across faculties. She also called for participation in the Alexandria Conference on Educational Innovations and Technology-Enhanced Learning, Alexandria University's flagship conference that discusses the latest developments in the university education process. The seventh edition will be announced soon. She also encouraged to participate in the incubation and pre-incubation programs of the PILOT Incubator, which has established seven startups to date. She pointed to the international awards Alexandria University has received in the field of educational innovations, the most recent of which was the UNESCO Award for the Most Active University in Training Faculty Members on Modern Teaching Methods on the UNESCO-IIOE platform. Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen praised the centre's activities, emphasizing the university's strategy to provide all forms of support for creativity and innovation.
