The lecture was delivered by Brigadier General Dr. Eng. Wael El-Abd, who highlighted the most pressing challenges facing Egypt’s national security, foremost among them the transboundary threats and their risks to the stability of the state. He stressed that addressing these challenges requires a comprehensive vision and integrated practical measures to enhance the state’s ability to safeguard its resources. He further outlined several key measures to confront such challenges, including: tightening border security, adopting a mindful approach to the repercussions of regional conflicts, monitoring the policies of major powers with expansionist tendencies, controlling migration flows, reinforcing development and asserting control over remote areas, raising public awareness to counter rumors and attempts to spread discontent, ensuring that every citizen holds a national ID card, in addition to continuously monitoring and analyzing local and international media trends.

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Hassan Abdeen emphasized that such educational meetings contribute to raising students’ awareness of national issues and instilling in them a sense of belonging, enabling them to confront extremist ideologies and disinformation campaigns.

For his part, Colonel Mohamed Maher stated that the collaboration between the University and the Popular and Military Defense Forces seeks to build genuine awareness among students and connect them with national issues. He stressed that national security begins within universities, as they serve as beacons of knowledge and factories of future leaders.

The event concluded with a reaffirmation that safeguarding national security is a collective responsibility that requires societal awareness, institutional cooperation, and a spirit of teamwork to protect the homeland and secure its future.
