Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Engineering held its "Open Orientation Day" on Monday, August 4, 2025. The event was organized to introduce the faculty’s new specialized engineering programs and witnessed a large turnout from high school students and their parents. It took place in Lecture Hall (1) at the Preparatory Building.
The event was attended by Dr. Walid El-Boraky, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Essam Wahba, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Dr. Wael El-Mogallany, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Magdy Abdel Azim, Director of the Information Network at Alexandria University; and Dr. Dina Saadallah, Director of the Career Development Center. The event was coordinated by Dr. Ahmed El-Tarras, Head of International Relations and Coordinator of the Computer and Communications Engineering Program at the faculty.
In his opening speech, Dr. Walid El-Boraky welcomed the attendees and emphasized the faculty's commitment to advancing the engineering education system to meet the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He highlighted the launch of modern specialized programs based on the credit hour system, which provide students with opportunities for academic excellence and strong competitiveness in both local and international job markets. He also pointed to the faculty’s ongoing efforts to connect academic curricula with practical realities through effective partnerships with leading industrial institutions and to offer real training opportunities within professional environments. Additionally, he emphasized the faculty’s focus on international cooperation through dual-degree programs and agreements with prestigious universities worldwide.
The event featured direct interaction between the faculty administration and the attendees. The Dean answered all questions transparently and clearly, covering topics such as admission and registration procedures, program structures, study-abroad opportunities, scholarships, internships, and the updated academic system — all of which were well-received by participants.
Students and their parents expressed their appreciation for the excellent organization and the academic content presented. They confirmed that the day provided them with a comprehensive and reassuring vision for studying at the faculty and strengthened their confidence in the high quality of engineering education offered by the university — education that keeps pace with technological developments and enhances graduates' readiness for the job market.
