Under the auspices of the President of Alexandria University, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, and within the framework of the active partnership between Alexandria University and the University of Louisville in the United States, the University of Louisville is hosting students from Alexandria University for summer training in its research laboratories across various engineering fields. This year, the University of Louisville is offering scholarships to Alexandria University students for the fourth consecutive year, in what is considered one of the most prominent undergraduate research training programs in the Middle East.
This program provides Egyptian students with a unique opportunity to participate in applied research projects within the University of Louisville’s laboratories, under the direct supervision of a distinguished group of American scientists and professors.
This year, the participating students from Alexandria University are enrolled in the following programs:
Chemical Engineering Program
Computer and Communication Engineering Program
Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering Program
Gas and Petrochemicals Engineering Program
Electromechanical Engineering Program
This participation represents an extension of a successful partnership between Alexandria University and the University of Louisville, which includes:
- The Dual Degree Program between the two universities.
The academic partnership between Alexandria University and the University of Louisville covers all engineering disciplines and offers a unique opportunity for engineering students to obtain a dual bachelor’s degree from both universities through one of the following models:
The (3+2) system: the student studies three years at Alexandria University, followed by two years at the University of Louisville.
The (4+1) system: the student studies four years at Alexandria University, followed by a fifth year at the University of Louisville.
Upon successful completion of the program, the student receives:
- A Bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville, USA
- A Bachelor’s degree from Alexandria University
It is worth mentioning that last year witnessed the graduation of the first cohort of Alexandria University students enrolled in the dual degree program in Biomedical Engineering, after successfully completing their studies at the University of Louisville, with a total of seven graduates.
This international partnership reflects Alexandria University’s commitment to developing the academic and research capacities of its students by providing genuine opportunities to engage in global scientific and research environments, promoting cultural exchange, and acquiring international experience in advanced engineering specializations.
The university also affirms its continued commitment to providing an educational environment that is open to the world, paving the way for its students to achieve leadership and excellence and empowering them to compete confidently at both the local and international levels.
