What is the initiative?

It is an initiative aimed at expanding the participation of the university community with all parties in preserving the environment and society to give the true image of the external community.

Initiative Philosophy:

The initiative, in its philosophy, is an ethical concept, relying on changing negative behavior patterns in dealing with the environment in general and the university community in particular, rejecting any negative distortions or behaviors, and spreading voluntary service awareness in order to achieve sustainable development goals - Egypt Vision 2030.

Initiative goals:

• Definition and exchange of information on the environment and sustainable development “Think Green”.
• Developing the spirit of participation in environmental cleanliness, community service and waste separation .... "for a better and sustainable university environment."
• Developing the spirit of participation in beautifying the university environment and eliminating any distortions within the university .... "Green life".
• The development of positive behavior and the rejection of any negative behavior, whether by actions or words .... "Together against negatives."

The Expected Impacts of Implementing The Initiative:

• Educating students about the practical concept of sustainable development dimensions and bearing social responsibility.
• Implementing the solid waste system in Alexandria University faculties and its annexes.
• Investing the majors of university colleges in community development and preserving the university environment.
• Converting the negative effects of solid waste into an added value by recycling it.
• Raising the cultural level and changing the negative behavior in dealing with the university environment.
• Providing students with the skills of waste recycling and reuse.
• Improving the university environment.

The implementation stages of the initiative:

• Purchase of boxes according to technical specifications and price offers.
• Distribution of boxes to the stores of the various colleges of the university according to the needs of each college.
• Design the logo and the type of waste on the tanks.
• Forming voluntary student groups from the Faculties of Fine Arts and Specific Education to spray the boxes with logo and type of waste.
• Putting groups of funds on campus for university colleges.
• Preparing and publishing a promo video for the initiative + preparing and publishing an introductory video for the idea of the initiative and awareness.
• A youth awareness campaign from the Social Responsibility students' team to conduct introductory campaigns for the initiative.
