Alexandria Governor Dr. Mohamed Sultan and AU President Dr. Essam El-Kurdy opened the HD Magnetic Resonance Unit in the main university hospital on Thursday 4th of May 2017. The unit has two magnetic devices of 3 Tesla and 1.5 Tesla with total cost of 3 million dollars.

The new unit is opened within AU efforts to respond to the requirements of education, research and the medical service in Alexandria. The event was attended by Dr. Hasan Nadir the former president of AU, Dr. Ahmed Othman the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and faculty members.

Dr. Adel Ramadan head of Diagnostic Radiology Section declared that the new unit is a great add with new devices that can treat heavy patients. He added that it is the first time to operate such modern devices in the Egyptian universities.
